Daaaaamn really? I’ve still only seen first 2 eps so far
Mostly just the difference of show telling a different sort of story than one I'd like for the premise
and being very slow
if it was like idk same eps told in just like 6 eps, it would have been a stronger series for me
Would you say it’s still worth watching tho? I enjoyed the first 2 eps but I wasn’t the most hooked I’ve ever been about a show tbh
I am in the minority here
everyone else likes it
so it's probably worth watching lol
Personally tho, this was my first Vince show and I was excited for even BB with how much I liked ep 1 of this, but now I don't want to check his other stuff out
It’s definitely worth watching
I really enjoy Pluribus. I am interested to see the route it goes for the remaining seasons, though I can see why people wouldn't be as gripped by it as Breaking Bad
At least at the start
Wait what lol?? I swear you’re a BB/BCS fan
dang u haven't watched bb
Am I tripping?
I have never watched a single episode of BB or BCS
Wow
wait I have watched like a few seconds back when Windows 8's official movie/tv app somehow was showing BB
I’m not gonna let popularity and internet adoption skew my opinion of BB. It is genuinely good
just lock in and watch BB youd probs get hooked pretty quick
I have irl friends who didn't like bb, but that was just because they have tiktok level attention span and dropped due to 'slow pace'
My tv show watch is very specifically police procedural/detective series and scifi
you can change that tho
really takes me a lot of self convincing to go full way with other stuff
I have friends like this and I basically ignore all their opinions nowadays
BB doesnt even have a slow pace
cuz like every time I have done that (like Stranger things recently), it ended up being not as good
well even ST is scifi so it's not a godo example
uhh
same , only good thing that friend recommended me was green mile
stranger things has been getting shit on since season 2 bro
whyd you watch taht instead of bb
May I direct you to a little show called Twin Peaks?

Coz it’s shit
cuz it's getting a final season and it's a idk internet phenomenon
fair enough
gotta catch up to that and join in with others "yooo I was there since day 1, I am so emotional blah blah"
idk if its as much a phenomenon as bb
/s
but fair
I definitely think s1 of st was its peak, but mannn I still enjoy it ngl
been in my list since foerver
I think it’s mostly a phenomenon due to the Netflix/binge watching culture that was heavily associated with it when it first came out
That’s basically the Netflix show model
I think S1 is geniunely amazing
^
I think s1 was fun and worth a watch
I loved s4 too ngl
It does like the || first contact || sort of story so so well. Stranger things
s2 and s3 were relatively mid tho
I really really really hated s4
why
But I’ve been so out of that show for ages now. The appeal is completely gone for me. Don’t think I even finished s4 and have no intention of doing so
season 4 of stranger things is the only one Ive watched.
It came out the same weekend I went on a trip with my friend so before bed theyd watch new eps
Damn
Ive no interest tho
I don’t think it’s your kind of show lol
Lol my brother actually got so mad at me yesterday over stranger things. I got the “you’re just a contrarian that gets all his opinions from twitter” accusation 😔
|| characters progressed in ways that I didn't fit their character before given what they have been through. And it retread the Bullying sort of plotline, which I am just never a fan of and which I always loathe. And the Upside Down place lost its appeal as a supernatural eldritch horror sort of thing when Vecna was introduced || Stranger things s4
Best shows of 2025 for me:
- Andor S2
- Severance S2
- The Mighty Nein S1
- The Pitt S1
- Pluribus S1
Stranger things s4 ||The last part you said is sooooo fucking true man. Vecna fucking blows and I didn’t even finish the season. It completely took me out of the mysterious and frightening nature of the upside down. ||
I get this sometimes since my friends are just superhero and isekai fans
Honorable mentions: The Studio S1 and Adolescence
weirdly enough the one superhero movie they DIDNT like is The Batman
the best one
smh
I mean yea for reference, my brother and his friends went crazy over solo leveling so
My fav show of the year might be The Pitt
yeah...
One could argue seasons 1 and 2 were
It’s really fucking good
Noah Wyle my goat
3-5 so far have let me down significantly
Severance S2 already feels like three years ago. Also, I learned that we won’t have Stiller on board for S3…
I think I only watched severance from western shows this year
I made the mistake of watching Severance too soon after season 2's release
Now I am waiting like everyone else
Andor really that good huh? Might be my next watch tbh. I wouldn’t mind some quality Star Wars content
It’s the best Star Wars since Empire
Stranger things s4||Any specific example that stands out the most when u say charactes progressed in ways u didn't like, I personally think I didn't like the progression of mike and will (kinda feel their character go through up and down throughout the series), el became kinda weird too ig. Honestly I forgot the bullying plotline that u mention 😭 ..
Can't relate on the upside down appeal opinion tho, I feel that appeal was really regressing for me before the vecna reveal but that reveal and the final connnection between the number 1 being vecna made me actually appreciate it more than the intermediate seasons ||
Probably not as good as rise of skywalker but we’ll see
True
Rise of sky walker ||one of the few movies I’ve actually fallen asleep during my theater watch. I don’t actually know what happens in most the movie. I woke up for the last 30 minutes or so and yeah….||
Stranger things s4 || also on the last part room, everything other than Henry being the same guy as One/Vecna was predictable. Like it was so predictable what happened in the facility and about One/vecna ||
Have you seen that clip of someone yelling “I fucking hate Star Wars” as the ending comes up in a theatre?
Incredible
Actual slop
JJ Abrams is not very good at making movies
is that the Star wars all || "Somehow Palpatine returned"||?
I like Super 8 and the first Star Trek film
Yea
Yes
Star Wars sequels main spoilers ||Rey is Palpatine’s biological granddaughter too. So 😭 😭 take that as you will||
Man that scene is so hated and memed that I did'nt even know about || Darth Vader being the dad guy || but I knew that scene. [STAR WARS] major spoiler
Huh???
Rise of the Skywalker ending || https://fixupx.com/wehavecomefor/status/2003362121665720793?s=46 ||
Never forget that this movie gave us one of the funniest movie theater recordings ever
Quoting Star Wars Holocron (@sw_holocron)
︀
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER was released on this day 6 years ago
Funniest shit ever
I feel bad for anyone in that theater that wasnt as loathing of the movie
hate that performative shit
LMAO
Stranger things s4||Idk man , the whole henry flashback with him exploring the upside down and like seeing how exactly the hive mind thing came into play (discovery of mind flayer and stuff) was not something I could have personally predicted lol. And yeah the final hawkins condition was a shocker for me too, even tho it was being built up. ||
Shapiro
change his mind
ST s4 || yeah the final thing was way less of a casualty sorta thing w/e for me ||
||lesser stakes than what I would have wanted ||
Hmm I wonder why Ben Shapiro is a big JJ Abrams fan
I'd say more a Rian Johnson fan
Goro Why are you defending the sale of substandard copper
If they did somehow conserve the complaint for the future to see that's an incredible act of petty revenge
Fair
I’m pretty sure he has a lot of fans here so I thought I’d share my Dad’s opinion on Brian Sanderson:
He is way too wordy, it feels like he’s getting paid by the page. He’ll take 5 pages to describe how a character walks down the stairs by commenting on every art portrait on the wall or the texture on the stairs.
Instead of just writing: He went down the stairs.
So your dad wants Tell, Don't Show?
Instead of Show Dont Tell?
I do agree he isn't as economical with his prose as I would have wanted
Also I am interested what he thinks of Robert Jordan when he reads Wheel of Time
Cuz Jordan's 10x than that

Stranger Things S05E07 - || lol the big reveal was Will coming out
also when did Kali become such a bitch 😭 leave El alone ||
I have already given too many contrarian-esque takes today so I would not give my WoT takes
Wot || though I do think it's appropriate for rands progress to stall after his ordeal ending in dumais wells ||
Okay I'll get with it
|| The Slog isn't that bad. It's only one bad slooooow book and the rest are okay pace and content || WoT
🏃♂️
Stranger Things S05E07 - || man it felt like nothing happened this episode fr. Next episode probably gonna be a 2hr movie ||
Wot || I forget which one it was but I remember there was only one book I thought crossed the line to bad, the rest of the slog books were just a let down ||
Enjoying this batch?
CoT
The slog was mostly by ongoing readers who had to wait years
90 page prologue : D
Perdido Street Station @tawny parcel this is what I was talking about earlier in the morning
Do lmk what you think of it
honestly last batch was better
Stranger Things S05E07 - || https://vxtwitter.com/noah_edgeworth/status/2004408679911886990?s=20
i get that this was in the time where people thought being gay was scary, but watching the episode 😭 i could see people thinking this lol its like last Episode where Max was just Yapping instead of running to the gate.
||
How did Stranger Things go from such a great show to the only way they could defeat Vecna is if Will tells everyone he’s gay first
watched the first 2 episodes of the second ST batch
fucking nothingburgers
goddamn it
@fallow saffron BCS big spoilers || it’s the Kim stuff. Like I just feel so sad for jimmy. I know how things end up going down but it would be too sad for me to see the process. Idk I just feel for him too much ||
Ohhh
BCS || and i was scared you were gonna say its because of chuck
||
Who
BCS || the crazy fuckass brother, idk if you saw clips of him before ||
Ohhhhh
Yea yea I know what you’re talking about
BCS || I know about the trial stuff and his crazy fear of electromagnetic fields lol. He’s a wack job ||
BCS || he had everything coming ngl
||
My NYC souvenir
Nice. Strand is very cool
What were you looking for?
For some stupid reason
Tor only printed book one of Malazan in the big hardcovers. And the rest are the mass market paperbacks
I was gonna see if they had used hardcover versions
Since those are oop
sieg gave up on the medium of manga after his goat wronged him
bro went full western series
Shhhhh
Spill the deets
His fav mangaka was Hiro Mashima. Liked Rave Master, Fairy Tail, and Edens Zero a lot. I think Edens Zero turned out badly and he turned on both it and Fairy Tail and now only likes Rave Master 😔
😭
I love rave, like ft, and hate ez
There being a shitty writing breaking point for Hiro Mashima fans is quite interesting
Kiss fairy tail
Marry rave master
Kill edens zero
oh ok so not full betrayal
what about his new series
😭
Semi wrong
I read Kagurabachi
But as far as new manga thats all ive read
Just rewatched the entire Knives Out trilogy
Knives out series ||Glass Onion hate is way overblown this is the best ending set piece of the entire series||
||Pain|| Strange Adventures #212
Stranger things season 4 episode 5 || not too big of a fan of this season at all so far just kinda going through the motions with a lame antag||
I must be the only one that didn't instantly hate season 4 lol
Damn this kinda fire
Anyone seen marty supreme yet
Think i might go watch it this weekend
Stranger things S5 EP5-7 ||lol it felt like a whole bunch of nothing ngl just like what was the whole point of making us wait a month for that. There was no risks or anything||
I said it back in Season 3 Stranger Things series ||the show was taking a nose dive in the quality of the writing and was getting worse. I liked season 2 except for the Kali and the Bad Teens Gang™️, which wasn't an entertaining storyline at all. But then season 3 just realllllly jumped the shark for me with Russian mall stuff. Duffer's were victims of their own success. Stranger Things coulda been a fantastic anthology series and ended up being whatever this is now||
dw he bitched about jordan too
and grrm
Then its mostly a fantasy genre thing
I am sure my dad has read 20x more fantasy than you have
i doubt it's a fantasy thing
It's the same for LoTR
Well its worse for LoTR but at least people like the prose so maybe due to that its not eggregious
I dunno. Your dad named like 3 of the most prolific authors of 3 decades
of fantasy
He's also 3x older than you
Obv
and dont forget he can bitch about them because he's read them
But like Fantasy from LoTR to GRRM was so tolkien derivative that they had same issues as Tolkien
I have read them too 😎
Ask your dad about what he thinks about that in LoTR
👀
he's right
I also agree for Jordan
your dad is very good
you should learn from him adam
i read wounded by percival everett
saw it in a book store
and remembered that macks said everett reminded him of me
was a fun little book
ive been malding through the expanse lately
I dropped at first book
watched the show then started again with the books
i like the first and second books lol
just goes off the rails after that
I like scifi when it's more philosophical or wild with concept
so just PKD and the likes
i just enjoy the time period it's placed in, feels a bit underplayed
in the genre
and for sci fi i just want it to be politically meaningful in some capacity, unlike most of it
expanse does pretty well
until it doesnt anymore
Peakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
rewatched it last year
soo so so sooo fun
so many rough edges but it's a kids show so who cares about them
three body ||it's okay but not really what i want as it's taking an existing historical event and kind of twisting it into this reactionary and fantastical event. i prefer when they make a theory of what life will be like after some amount of time and write in the political implications||
Goat
i remember when ben 10 came out i thought it was too old for it
but secretly liked it
Juba have you read 11/22/63
Three Body ||
i prefer when they make a theory of what life will be like after some amount of time and write in the political implications
Dude if you ever get anything which does this satisfactorily over the course of even just 100 years, let me know
The reason I mostly only read social scifi and like which only explore concepts in vaccum is because whenever I read anything of that kind, it's disappointing ||
Wombat when will you be reading Perdido Street Station
since you liked the prologue's excerpt that I sent
they aren't written as wonderfully as Perdido Street Station tho!
Hey I read three body
I’m reading RoW as we speak
Your RoW takes are boring me so read smth which I knwo you would have probably better takes
so Perdido street station
I said I was gonna start stormlight on my travels but didn't at all
The travels are almost done
I was planning to get through with Malazan too but haven't had the mood for it after breakup
I had really liked what I had read tho
I loved malazan especially the end
It's like wot with no slog
The crippled god is an outstanding book
the expanse books one and two lol
Smth else
I didn't like how it was written
Plus I don't think I found that aspect satisfying but I don't think I read enough to have a proper opinion on it
hainish cycle by ursula k le guin
commonwealth peter hamilton
Noted
characters are stupid like the expanse but it's just well written as a world
honestly you cant go wrong with le guin
the dispossesed and left hand of darkness especially are seminal scifi
Oh that's Pandora's star's author...
....
I should read the Expanse books some time
Ohh
I remember watching the Amazon show years ago
the first two are definitely worth it re expanse
3 body is more about the author exploring some of the craziest scifi concepts but failing miserably at everything else while expanse is just a cool concept thats mostly used as vehicle for political intrigue
its kinda game of thrones in space
they're both good in their own ways but nothing is perfect
It was good but for me stuff where its very good and one aspect is really disappointing leaves a far more bad taste than just bad stuff.
Been a while but for me it was|| How aliens didn't feel alien beyond their design || Pandora's Star
honestly im just so starved for good scifi nowadays that I'll take anything
Have you read 2001 series
sure amazon fucked up expanse but I'd rather have more seasons
idk I propablly didn't even read 100
No like space odessy
He means 2001 space odyssey lol
I watched the movie
The arthur c Clarke one
There are 4 books
I dont really feel like reading it after watching the movie tbh
the only times I do that is if I absolutely hate the adaptation
like one piece lulw
2001 is just the first book
I didnt know that
2010 I think 2056 or something then 3001
I'll have a look
They made a 2010 movie with John lithgow
It's not that good but it's right before the Soviet union fell interesting time capsule
For scifi I will probably read more Simak
2001 was written during the movie production
the film was conceived first
published after the release of the film
Way Station really hit the several scifi wishlist sorta things/stuff I like in scifi
So hopefully he gas other good stuff
2010 is based more on the book that came before it
Hitchhikers is also pretty peak scifi imo
The last one written by someone else is kinda mid but all the rest are great
It wasn't horrible but it was a step down
people are slandering st 5 so much I'm kinda losing my will to even watch the rest now
i've started my 2026 reading list early this time around
I thought batch 1 was better than s4 so I am hopeful
I was doing it mostly due to sunken cost so its tough news
I watched the first episode and shit was goofy ngl
I was doing it for "yo I watched finale when it was relevant" or smth
Like comically over the top
s5 feels as mid as s3 which is at least better than s2
But i promisedmy brother who loves it i would watch the finale in theaters with him
I always catch up to the tv stuff in such time
So I have to at least get to the end of batch 2
Better than Ellisons getting it
yes it's like billy bat but bad
but i have read perdido street station and you should too
I’ll put it on my list
Taxi driver season 3 episode 3 ||I don't know if anyone watches this, but it caught me off guard 😭 ||
No way
Is that a one piece reference
In the one piece server
Stranger Things season 5 episode 7 is one of the worst things I’ve seen this year
ST 5x7 ||one of the worst scenes of anything I’ve seen this year is Will’s coming out scene, utterly devoid of emotion and feeling, accentuated by incredibly bad performances throughout||
is it worse than s2?
It’s magnitudes worse bro
To think, the Ben 10 omniverse began through this cartoon!
ST s5 e5 || MAN Steve Dustin fight.
The whole angle to how these two characters have behaving to each other doesn't make sense. ||
Also the dialogue... || The whole conversation between El and 6. What the hell was the delivery in that ||
spoiler tag that
ST s5 e6 || Ummm what 💀 ||
ST 5x6 ||you hit the info dump ep||
Netflix try to finish a show well challenge
They really took it way long and ran out of ideas
ST s5 e6 || This sort of reveal would have been cool if it was idk season 3 maybe..not 5 eps before the finale ||
whats the reveal I kinda gave up on that shit already
ST s5e6 || Upside down isn't a mirror dimension/parallel world but a wormhole between 2 worlds ||
st || this is almost as bad as vecna replacing the mindflayer ||
they really ran that shit to the ground
ST S5 - || part of me thinks the mindflayer is still the final villain ||
Stranger things s5 vol 2 end ||a lot of the "heartfelt" moments look so silly with the world ending threats going on||
Eh
|| This is the time when those moments feel most genuine. When you have done and tried everything and nothing seems to work and you just give up changing anything in the absurd circumstances you have been in, that's when you open your hearts completely ||
Stranger things s5 vol 2
I think anything other than emotional moments has been bad in this batch, and more than most emotional beats have worked
They are so incompetent at stakes or tension that || They neither want to give the crew any real W but also they give the crew so much plot armor ||
It's such a weird blend that it ends up being worst of both worlds
ST S5 ||no one is fucking dying||
ST s5 || They had to bring in a reformed -Steve clone to kill cuz they can't kill old characters ||
I purchased a Batman: The Long Halloween issue this week 'cause I loved the art. It was issue 10 though, so I might need to find the others first.
@wooden swift @jolly ruin since people don’t talk about it much since it’s older, here’s a very recent thread about your goat’d show https://www.reddit.com/r/television/s/qoa3Jvq4SY
is it that good? how long is it?
man, 60 1 hour episodes is a lot
I aint got time for allat...
You can skip the last season it's kinda dumb
thats still 500 hours
yeah but have you considered
You meant 50 hours? lol
!nevercookagain
no bro its western series that shit feels 10x longer
😔
No it isn't 😡
I'll put it this way
Myself, Adam, Juba, and Fats all have watched it and loved it and rank it amongst our best television series'
It's absolutely worth the time especially if you have a particular care for the sociopolitical implications of crime/police/the drug trade
It doesn't do all things/commentary perfectly but it gets very very close and doesn't pull punches and is coupled with excellent excellent acting and character arcs
I think people talk sopranos more because it's a bit more digestible and "memeable" than the wire, but I think the wire is the better of the two and the more important of the two in terms of content and overall legacy to the medium of television
The wire or sopranos
Unfortunately it isn’t Japanese and about super powered high schoolers 😭
youve convinced me bro
Im going to watch City Hunter
nah Ill consider it. Live action television as a medium is less interesting to me than animation as a medium so I usually only find myself diving into shorter things these days
but if I find the time and motivation Ill peep
The wire
Not a contest for me even being a NJian
I also have somewhat ties to Baltimore as my brother went to John's Hopkins so I went there alot as a kid
Which isn't to say that like I saw the shit that happened in the wire lol
But I have somewhat of a connection to the city. Memories of certain areas
This channel will crucify me for saying but sopranos is kinda so bad it’s good tier. The actors are great but the quality episode to episode is so varying and the camera work and choreography sometimes makes it look like a soap opera.
Recently rewatched it
Anti-Italian discrimination
I wouldn't say bad insofar as predictable/tropey
And from that angle I have similar frustrations that make me enjoy the wire more
Every time there’s gun play at work it’s like ????
Everything looks so incredibly fake
I feel like your point about the camera work and choreography applies to a lot of television series of that era. Somewhere along the way they started viewing television as something to lock in on as much as cinema
But the characters are compelling and the acting is great
ik the wire is from the same time obv but a lot of shows Id see on tv or my parents would watch were like that

That’s true
Fun fact about the sopranos
- I live 10 minutes from Tony's house
- As a kid my mom always took me to where the last scene of the show was shot + I still sometimes visit
I enjoyed the sopranos but idk if Ive ever felt the motivation to rewatch
I dont think Ive ever rewatched any western television series. Not that ive watched a whole lot
Did you rewatch arcane leading up to the season 2 premiere
I had rewatched it like a year prior already
so not leading up exactly
I said western but I meant live action

Oh okay lol
Weird thing is I can sit thru several hour long episodes of Western series but not anime. I rmber binging all of the wire in a week, it hooks you in pretty quick
yeah just depends what you're most interested in about media ultimately.
I did binge tf out of breaking bad as a lad. And I did recently binge tf out of The Penguin
Currently rewatching scooby doo mystery inc, such a fun series.
Might be top 10 western animation for me
For me it’s that there’s stuff to look at in your average live action stuff. With an average anime it’s mostly a slide show until the Sakuga episodes.
thats changed a lot even for television anime in recent years
series like the summer hikaru died, apothecary diaries, heavenly delusion, etc all have a lot going on
It’s just a television show, they all kind of suck to some extent
sopranos has a few qualities that push it past the rest
this was especially true when it released and tv was awful for the most part
generalizing like that doesnt really help much
sopranos and wire are from hbo, it would be somewhat the equivalent of watching a ufotable/madhouse/gainax etc
you know you in for a good time the moment that static opening hits
well not anymore
it fell off plus the netlix deal is just the nail on the coffin
time tow atch stranger things season 5 more
i kinda dont really care for this so i mijht just make it 2nd monitor content
Fire and Ash low key better on rewatch
Now that I have set my expectation from first watch
'i shouldnt have promised my brother I would watch the finale in theaters in him 😞
stranger things s5 ||the saving grace of this show is that nancy is hot and her haircut reminds me somewhat of ellen ripley who is also hoty||
....
-# not like I don't agree
ST s5 ep 2 ||wtf happened to robin this season why does she talk like a cartoon character 😭 ||
ya ill finish this eason but this feels like stranger things written and directed by mr beast
Yeah liked Avatar 3. There's some really bad implications of some story beats but its the best one so far
|| especially Aeva killing the same people who had lost their way due to her not saving them ||
||yeah more tears were shed that’s for sure
||

Famous racist and all round bad person
Halfway through ST s5e7
This is a really good episode so far. The discourse was making it seem like the worst thing ever
|| Henry's manipulation of the kids is really well done. The planning to how to deal with Henry is really well done. And while I don't like the reveal of Wormhole and the fact that it retcons so much shit, it actually makes the previous retcons make sense. || ST s5e7
|| it makes sense why Henry's options in previous seasons so less. The number of demogorgons in first season being too less and too erratic. Mind Flayer suddenly coming in s2. The number of beings just increasing and increasing.
With the bridge being formed and slowly the creatures travelling and then Henry getting more and more under his control, the previous retcons are way less eggregious ||
17 minutes left. Still good
Still ok at 14?
The delivery of the infamous scene was p cringey, but plenty parts of the show has been as cringey and bad before
And its just like 5 minutes and the rest of the episode has been really good lmao

@blazing rune scammer here too
Thanks 🙏
@foggy mirage
Predator Badlands - || https://x.com/IGN/status/2005145459392713066?s=20 ||
Hideo Kojima would be interested in creating a video game adaptation of Predator: Badlands.
"That felt quite game-like, traveling with Elle Fanning on your back."
Via Wired: https://t.co/LAxf2zuwEa
Predator badlands ||i can see him pull that off tbh||
its basically DS
Just reminded me I have to watch stranger things
what season you on?
It will
FOUR 😭 WTF
Avatar looks really fucking awesome
ya back in like 2009 😭
????
Dude this movie is also way better than anything
Give me a single full cgi movie with water that realistic
with such realistic scenery
i honestly thought Way of the water was better but to each their own
some moments i felt like i was watching a cut scene
especially near the climaxes of the later 2 avatar films
I don't understand this comparison
felt uncanny
its not even a comparison
it literally looks like a video game cut scene at moments
I dunno
I was blown away most of the time
any scenery shot or water shot
I had rewatched it today and I don't remember any instance where it felt the way you are describin git
Water is wet
Just need to watch the new eps
I already watched the ones before
I am enjoying this season way more than s4
this season is perhaps the worst TV season i've seen this year
I don't think it's very good but way better than s4
I didn't like any episode of s4 at all
Nothing can reach the peak of this year that's The Pitt
wait s2 is in jan
Favorite show is welcome to derry atleast this season
Its on the list
@modern lichen what did you think of The Pitt
thats without question, WTD is way better
i already watched the Pitt

great show
it was pretty good
more people should watch The Pitt
need new show to obsess over since Leverage Redemption is over
Best shows of 2025 for me:
- Andor S2
- Severance S2
- The Mighty Nein S1
- The Pitt S1
- Pluribus S1
Honorable mentions: The Studio S1, Adolescence
You liked Pluribus more than Adolescence? damn
probably never going to watch welcome to derry because i dont really care about the IT universe and i dont like how it looks
yeah i like pluribus more than adolescence
Never heard of the studio
really good show on apple plus
ill probably go best 2025 for me:
- WTD
- Severance
- Daredevil Born Again
- King of The Hill S14
- The Pitt
born again was just ok
- The Pitt
- Murderbot
- Alien Earth
- Pluribus
- Stranger Things s5
I think I am missing smth
Stranger things lmao
lol wait oyu only watched 5 episodes

i would hold up on that ranking then till you finish 🤣
nothing I do will change the ranking cuz like bro
I gotta make it 5 entries
I do like it way more than s4
but it's still very bad
I wasn't a fan of ep 6 initially but it won over me
|| I like the upside down being worm hole decision now || st s5 all
Dune, ~3/4 of the way through I think ||I got past the 2-year time skip . Can't believe Oda stole this concept from Herbert. And Paul just rode his first worm. ||
did you just google "Is Nami Swan right? Is Avatar 3 a smash hit?" 😭
oh.. yeah it needs a bil, pretty sure they all did
well the 2nd one had a bigger budget
but the budget really doesn't determine if something is a smash hit to me.. like if you're crossing a bil after 2 weeks. That's a hit movie
Is Avatar 3 good on the narrative front?
Like, I can go see it and say "wow, that's a damn good story."
you saw the first 2?
yeah then you'll like Avatar 3
story wise it doesn't get better imo.. but movie wise its really good
Basically same level as 2 narratively, it feels like a continuation in that same way, just on a grander scale
As stated b4, if you like 1 and 2 story wise then you’ll like 3
You’re falling for James Cameron’s trap if you think any installments of this franchise are going to be narratively distinct. They’re for visual spectacle and that’s it
Think 4 and 5 are already confirmed to happen right?
||Jim fuckin Steranko man|| Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD #2
||Dan Adkins also goated|| Dr. Strange #170
I would say in some character arcs it does, but as a whole, not really
They had severance on a plane. Pretty interesting but no apple TV gonna have to bug my sister to get the rest
And can do pluribus after
AppleTV+ is really good on scifi front
Every Scifi series there, even the ones I didn't end up liking, are at least worth a watch
I'm pretty sure my sister has it and we share all streaming we can
I got like 2 more hours of united after this layover I'm hoping the next plane has it too
unless I die a terrible terrible death
I think
I can finish rhythm of war before the end of the year
I am on chapter 91
I should read wind and truth but I literally have no motivation to do so
ur a stormlight reader evan?
It great
I’ve read 1-4 ye
My fav book fr fr
lmfao
You not a fan?
Y'all have bad taste that's what it id
I like stormlight a lot but book 5 aint for the weak
I would say Evan.
It hits the same notes for me that Haikyuu final arc did
Lmfao that’s an interesting comp
I just think Brandon needs to edit these books down ngl lol as much as Ive enjoyed them
Make them a nice punchy 800 pages or something
|| It's slow Catharsis upon cathartis building up, and then a sense of wrongness is also built up and then the sanderlanche hits || WaT non spoilery
maybe I didnt feel it as hard during 1-2 because I was still getting used to the world
Wombat you’d literally die reading wheel of time if you think stormlight needs some cutting down
i can handle wheel of time i will one day
Good luck
I ain't a plot reader so it being more character and world focused is more positive for me
famous last words
pluribus hater btw
LOL
what is gotm
i think after rhythm of war I will read one or two of the normal sized books on my shelf then go into wind and truth
oh right when did you stop
I legit took a break between books and didn't remember anything
I had to reread a summary
so much shit to remember
I had life lifing (breakups and shit) so wasn't in right headspace
Finally continued today
Malazan is just super rich and complex so it does take quite a bit of effort to read. Wheel of time has some real bullshit slop sections that are actually a pain to read through. Only the strong survive
But it’s worth it in the end
I was expecting it being way more unfocused
The way people describe it
I thought characters didn't return until have a book later lol
malazan is good
although Stormlight archive 1-2 ||I do wonder how these two would feel on reread now that i know the world and the magic and systems and such if they would fair as well on reread. But I also think book 1 and 2 is probably where these characters are (for the most part) most interesting lol||
its like so much stuff happening
its not a bad thing but makes it hard to remember stuff unless I super focus
It is a tough read as far as fantasy series go
What I do like is
It doesn't give exposition on which parties are allied with whom
and that is fun to understand
whats your favorite fantasy series evan
Not including Tolkien stuff?
He's a WoT nerd
Do wheel of time fans even like wheel of time
I need to finish it but I must gather all my energy for that first
atm I got other stuff to do
Coz it’s Tolkien by default
Any wheel of time fan that doesn’t acknowledge its flaws aren’t real wheel of time fans
WoT should have started in CoT
crazy you didn't read lotr yet
i only started reading last year
ur like reading all the fantasy stuff but skipped the goat
no way its been only a year
game of thrones is what got me back into reading
game of thrones and then I read some individual books and then stopped for like a month or two and then picked up twok i think in august
or september
i have the date
Might also be an effect of endless rewatches and a couple of rereada
8/01-8/17 was twok so ya
Farseer, Discworld and Black Company are my three goats
is discworld a graphic novel or books
Books
i always hear it thrown around
41 books
Wtf
june-july tho i didnt really read anything
Wait I would say Vampire Hunter D instead of Black Company but I was counting VHD as scifi
so yea from middle of september last year to now is when ive been reading
Eh idk what my favorite fantasy series outside of Tolkien is tbh. I probably just don’t have one because they’re pretty hard to compare.
Wheel of time will always be special to me and even tho there are some dogshit sections throughout it, it honestly does feel like an epic story
Terry pratchett’s discworld series are the most fun and digestible fantasy books easily
I think the first law trilogy is really tight narratively and if you like character work and a gritty setting, it’s really good.
I think GRRM is for the most part really good but we all kind of know what the deal with that series is. But it’s definitely worth reading
room read VHD
wheel of time is my western one piece equivalent
really good stuff with some huge stinkers in between
Both have a LRLL too
and long af

The winds of winter will also be getting read in 2026 becasue it will be out
and then we can finally put to rest all the hooplah about martin being a bad author
Read more fantasy
Me since 2015 every year
because he will have made everyone remember how good he is
you gotta manifest or else it wont come true
me reading winter "look at all that cool stuff happening it would be a shame if we never saw the conclusion"
no because before he dies he'll drop it like an mcu reveal
"I was writing both the whole time"
Winds of Winter would be the final book Martin would write
Surely
He's old
and probably tired of Asoiaf
bro
ya and juba is a hack who doesnt like anything so I trust his word even less
Hr doesn't like anything so him liking that gives it more credit
Trust me. You will like it smh
that and Second Apocalypse
its on my list do not worry
Book of the new sun series by gene wolfe is some real shit tho. It’s not pure fantasy but it’s a pretty deep cut
but first i will read books i already own
It's scyfy

Evan read Tainted Cup
You would finish it in less than a week
And would love it
Lemme search it up
i love that lala land song
I have fallen so behind on reading
legends and Latte sequel, Monk and Robot book 2
all remaining...
Strangee things s5 time
Stranger things has been demoted to 2nd monitor content while I play slay the spure
Interested?
Yeah it sounds really interesting and fun actually
I’ll check it out

Liked episode 3 more than the past two episodes at least
also winona ryder has not aged at all so its funny seeing her next to Noah Schnapp
Ep 4 has both the best and worst aspect of that batch
Enjoy
ya ill watch it tomorrow
my brother said it was his favorite in the series
or near it
but tbf not to diss on my brother I dont view him as the highest harbinger of taste
no hate tho
Too extreme...
I gave up hope on twow like 5 years ago
I did a reread with a friend thinking it'll probably be out by the time we're done. Twice. Two different friends a couple years apart
st s5 ep 3 ||what is this home alone ass house they built this part isnt hating im enjoying this demigorgon shit 😭 ||
nah but 2026 different tr5ust
st s5 ep 3 ||dont know how I feel about the dustin change im okay with having a little edge but tehy kinda just made him a whiny little bitch this season like shut up bruh||
Though I usually envy optimism, in this case you're just setting yourself up for disappointment
any day now
He's too rich too distracted by too many projects it's just never happening
oh ya hes making a knight in 7 kingdoms or whatever right
Yeah. Should be good. He wants to write another book in that series too lol
I think the idea is he wants that timeline eventually to end at the tragedy of summerhall
im ngl and I hate to keep hating on this season
does it normally look this ugly
or am i jsut crazy
like the cgi and shit just looks ugly
Yeah I really don't like where.they took some characters
At least Martin is writing
It's not like Kingkiller where he advertised as 'I have already written the entire trilogy. I won't make you wait like other authors' and the hiatus since book 2 is same as Wait for Winds of Winter
I dunno if I believe he's actively writing. The only thing that makes sense is he's constantly rewriting
Not only was the (already written) end of adwd cut and moved to twow but there's also like 20 sample chapters done as of like 7 years ago
The progress makes no sense if he is actually spending the majority of his time writing
Since he's not really a plotter
He probably writes stuff
then checks ir
then rewrites
Well whatever style it is it's not working out
Ados seems impossible at this point. There's still a small chance of twow
Of Stranger Things?
I think every season has looked bad than before 🏃♂️
idk maybe its just becasue im more conscious of the media i consume
maybe it always looked this ugly
but i dont remember it being that that ba
ST s5 ep 3|| Like the scene in episode 1 where john and steve are climbing up the tower for ecample||
shit looked fake asf
Yeah, the framing and composition of images is bullshit
I like the Darabont directed episodes more
But the Shawn Levy directed eps look fuck ugly
in this latest batch, episode 6 is darabont
episode 7 and 8 were levy and duffer brothers
I hope he gets better soon
This will probably be one of the strongest video game adaptations just by virtue of having a real director but it doubly helps that the source material is just boilerplate HK crime stuff. Which literally always hits.

when is the doomsday trailer supposed to drop officially
I wanna talk about it but leaks are against the rules 😔
why do you of all people care about it
I don't even like it and you dislike it more than me
since when
spice a mcu truther???
so smth in the trailer got you excited for doomsday?
its something I have talked about here before
ah
Yeah I got it now
you know what I'm talking about?
anyway aside from that doom himself is one of the best characters in mcu
this movie seems to be leaning full on nostalgia bait
idk about rdj tho
and rdj as doom...
I still think hes not the real doom
its too desperate
they cant be THAT desperate
I dont care about the nostalgia bait I care about the future
Doomsday first teaser || they brought back Steve Rogers bro ||
they are full on nostalgia bait for this movie
well yea but thats not the part I'm excited about
I understand
what I am saying is, even if they did that, it already feels so so nostalgia bait that I woudl rather it be happened after || reset || MCU this phase end
cuz they are probably aiming for that
give me some || retro future-ish universe instead of MCU bland New York || MCU
you know thats not gonna happen
yea lol
MCU/Doomsday/Secret Wars ||they're gonna create 1 universe and have all the marvel heroes they want in it so consolidate the multiverse||
at best it can have some side plot in an alternate universe but never the main thing
true 😔
I mean after that
|| wait you mean the 1 universe as in the one after the supposed reset || MCU new phase Glex?
that's why it never worked
Cuz MCU played it too safe
the best sequence of Multiverse of Madness was || the crazy universe switching sequence and it was barely 10 seconds ||
blame whats his name for being an asshole off screen and having to scrap kang
they could have just recast him man
kang is kinda mid tho
I stg I'd hate to have to wait another 20 years for doom
and 20 more for apocalypse
even thanos was kinda mid too
what are your thoughts on Fox's movies spice
well other than X3 and dark phoenix and two shit wolverine ones
a guilty pleasure but they're trash af
so much shit wrong
at least they really got wolverine, prof and mag right
At their best, they are better than any MCU movie ngl
but their worst is much much worse
okay I take it back lmao
that has some really exciting stuff
it's probably gonna drop in like 2-3 days tho
that was the case for the first one
lol thats my dog when he sees the dog park
Oh did they release the trailer
no
Being an X-Men fan is a great test of patience
the trailer leaked
Lol I want to see the official because maybe I'm just getting old but I literally can't tell if it's a real leak or AI 😭

Malcolm in the middle Sequel - || https://vxtwitter.com/DiscussingFilm/status/2005641631551373415?s=20 ||
First trailer for the ‘MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE’ sequel series
Releasing April 10 on Hulu
Bryan Cranston is reprising his role
im so scared this is gonna be shit
mitm is one of the best sitcoms ever created
also hal > walter white
I mean it doesn't erase Malcolm in the Middle even if it sucks
im excited to watch it even though it will probably be like the Full House remake
it just looks weird in HD to me 😭 , similar to its always sunny
There's definitely gonna be a few Breaking Bad easter eggs in it. In fact, I'll bet anything one episode will either have him dressing up as Walter or reenacting one of the more iconic BB episodes through some shenanigans.
This is one of the few sequel series I’ve been excited about
Oathbringer chapter 13 ||”Shallan froze, then yelped and tucked her bare safe hand behind her back” bro||
Of course it's gonna suck lol
When has a sitcom coming back after decades been good
Oathbringer ||I love how much the safehand thing annoys you lol||
Oathbringer ||I just find it really stupid. Not even like feet which are covered all the time anyways but your HAND. And you know I might be able to tolerate it if it weren’t be treated the same as being naked lol||
Other than that though I’m enjoying this book start more than words of radiance
Dune thought I had (Death Note has to be mentioned, as well) ||I finally have a way to describe Dune's inner monologues: all the Death Note mind games that get played between Light and L and N. That's literally what it feels like at times, especially when the Duke is involved.||
dont' worry if falls off
WoT book 11 || ain't no way the entire fucking empire got offscreened man what am i reading||
RoW ch 93 ||very good chapter but “I’m your veil” was a little silly but thats just hating||

Peak arrived
You’re a yearner
Fallen Angels or 2046 first
Tempted to watch In the Mood for Love, but it’s the one I’ve rewatched the most recently
Do you rewatch stuff often
I rarely ever do
I think i like the idea of rewatching more than I do actually rewatching just because i want to be looking at new stuff all the time
Which is probably a bad thing
But like I’ll still rewatch movies occasionally
I think I’ve only ever rewatched a tv show like once
Exactly
︀︀Emerald Fennell
Ya i think i only rewatched live action op because i watched it with two different parties
like lmao
OPLA is a helluva choice, but understandable if you were watching it simultaneously alongside different sets of people
Other then that i can’t think of any other time I’ve rewatched a tv show
Cause I only watch like 1-2 shows a year
lol I'm in the boat where I rewatch movies/tv that are trash but I love the idea of rewatching something that was very interesting and critically acclaimed
One a op fan and the other with my parents who had never seen it
Well anyways. I’ve seen so many movies at this point that the “first time watches” are typically reserved for contemporary or upcoming films
Like duh I spent $150 on the box set of films I already know I love, and duh I’m gonna put it to use
I guess i get movies because theyre 2 hours
Ya I stoped doing that because I never watched that shit
It's basically a collectable at that point
My brother did a whole rewatch of stranger things before s5 and he has a wife and a kid
How did you find thr time and energy man i barely even want to watch s5 itself
No because he’s the oldest brother
Lmfao
Idk where u got younger
Im the youngest in my family
Lol why you catching strays
When you tryna hate but you genuinely don’t know the dude you hating on so you just say shit hoping it will stick
you can lie all you want
Also if I had a younger brother who was married bro I would be worried I am TWENTY
Ain’t NO one should be getting married before like 25 at least bruh let alone before 20
Ridley Scott and Gregg Araki, though. This is how I win
Are we sure about Ridley Scott
Haven’t the last two movies he made been buns
Lol so
I’ve got faith in him still
I’m dreading Wuthering Heights the most next year

Is the social reckoning a social network sequel
Yeah it’s about the failures of Meta apparently
What the heck is fall 2?
Sequel to summer
Me imagining a gritty anatomy of a fall sequel
That’s what I was wondering
