final reckoning ||my problems with the film are at a more fundamental level, i dont care about kittridge as much as i care about the waste of an entire hour just to do recaps and fill in the last movie, the film only settles with luther's death, its also a problem that mcquarrie has become lazier at developing timers while the stakes are all ramped up, so what he does is add more timers upon timers, it becomes tiring, if not for the action and the genuinely heartfelt performances, it wouldn't have worked||

final reckoning ||the need to retrofit briggs as jim phelps' son was so lazy i rolled my eyes, shit did nothing which i'm glad it didnt, though i thought the rabbit's foot being the digital blueprint to the entity was a cool enough idea||

Mission Impossible Final Reckoning ||
The beginning was very good. The callbacks, and everything ig. And I liked where we started this movie in and the state of the world at that moment. Seems realistic time frame for Luther to develop the "destroy drive" for the Entity. Luther's death was very emotional. The only nitpick I have is that Luther saying "I chose to accept it" would have increased the emotional delivery tenfold for me (sort of an allusion to "Your mission, should you choose to accept it") but it was very emotional without it too.

A review shared by rg (in the title) had told it suffers from nostalgia baiting and retcons. I didn't find this to be the case. Maybe the only issue I have would be that the key and Entity being of significance after 10-12 years makes me question why's there this long gap. Which might just be some explanation that I missed due to the crowd and audio. But that added an extra layer of nuance to the movie which was touched previously about "who the orders were from" and the "right and wrong". Which again works for Ethan's immediate rogue sort behaviour in Dead Reckoning. I didn't find there to be any nostalgia bait, like any celebratory reference to the previous movie used felt in place, and honestly it worked as a early catharsis and celebration of the journey of the franchise in a good way.

Tress of the emerald sea ch 36/Stormlight general || The water cycle is extremely predictable in everywhere other than Crimson Sea. And only Crimson sea is where it can rain anytime

So a couple of question.

1. Hoid does say in the book to forget about the water cycle. I ignored the water cycle in Stormlight too but atleast hey it had active gods (Shards) and pieces of gods. How does it really work in this world :kekhands:
2. I get how rain falls predictably here. So do they get the ships inside land and in a safe distance away from the spore sea around the rain time? And like the spores which get the rain, so do they like grow and return back to their normal state? So in heavy downpour wouldn't be like the spores grow into complete form of their aether before it could get get back into just spores? And this way wouldn't the sea completely grow before it could turn back?
3. How and where does the water for the rain come from????
4. It has mountains, and like snow would melt and rivers would form. And rivers would flow into ocean. How does it work???? Well atleast for this snow not forming can work as an explaination for me ||

I like the world but like now when I am getting more into it, I lack the necessary information about it (I don't want to jump into conclusion that it is a poorly built one)

Like Mistborn TFE all/Stormlight General/Tress || Stormlight's feel completely alien but it feels sort of realistic. Mistborn's feel so extremely artificial and like it's meant to be artificial with how Rashek (is he a Shard? Idk if a Shard would get so easily beaten by Vin lol) seems to have deliberately changed the world to show his dominance (that's what it sorta hinted at)

Here it feels neither. It doesn't seem like it's meant to be artificial sort like Mistborn's. Neither does it feel like Stormlight's ||

Tress/Mistborn 1/Stormlight|| I say it's a good thing Tress's world doesn't feel like Mistborn's or Stormlight's. It's supposed to read like a fairy tale you know. The world is whimsical and fantastical. And iirc there are some more answers coming regarding the world/water cycle/detailed specifics, but if you pick it apart I'm sure you'll find flaws. I don't think it's meant to be picked apart, but I think Brandon did a pretty good job giving reasonable explanations for the most critical of things. But yeah, the world doesn't hold up as strongly as it could. But again, it's only 1 book. If Brandon wrote several books in the world he could flesh it out more. ||
