Sonic IDW 64 ||Almost caught up now and I've got a admit, the cracks in this series have really been showing ever since the Issue 50 climax.

Scrapnik Island was great but everything else that's happened since Starline died has been fucking boring and really inconsistent in quality. Small scale stories that try to incorporate most of the cast in hollow ways, and globetrotting around the same 3 or 4 villages always connected to the restoration so there's no sense of adventure. You can feel the writers falling back on Archie Sonic story templates as a comfort zone since theres no clear direction right now, but without the world building or melodrama that for better or worse at least gave em some substance. Hope it picks up after Misadventures.||

The premise being that an unborn child is implanted into the mind of an formally-dead adult woman brought about a unique coming of age story where this character faces the world with a childlike innocence. The blunt and naive ways she interacts with adults is hilarious and it makes this story's exploration of its actual adult characters so fascinating. Her unique perspective and growth kept me watching to the end. I liked this. 😮 ||

Windrunners already having faced death? Navani being threatened? Ialai being poisoned, possibly by Shallan or Adolin's own people? The Ghostbloods possibly becoming an even greater threat? Severance latest episode || really good episode, weakest of the season so far but it speaks to the quality of this show that this episode which is crazy in its own right is the weakest. Lumon is absolutely the worst huh, destroying an entire town and its populace by getting them addicted to ether, child labor, exploitation of labor, Jame Eagan being a fucking fraud who steals ideas and then threatening Cobel to stay and now Cobel sees all of that and is realising how devotion to Kier was for naught. Really intense final few minutes. Can’t wait to see where it goes from here ||

Finished Green Eggs and Ham. The writing staff somehow turned a short & simple kids book and expanded the story and characters with a surprising amount of interesting depth. This was genuinely an amazing show with stunning 2D animation. Although the story and characters are simple and cliche, it's overall executed so well. I enjoyed the arcs of Sam and Guy a lot and how they grew to get along with one another to make the point of Guy finally eating green eggs and ham so satisfying to see. No joke, it was a one-of-a-kind experience that respects Dr. Seuss's legacy in the best way possible. I highly recommend it. 🥰

Finished the K-Drama Move to Heaven ||Easily the best k-drama I've seen, bar none. The premise of trauma cleaners cleaning up the rooms of deceased people quickly set a precedent to me that this would be an emotional roller-coaster. For 10 straight episodes, the writing continued to be top-notch in delivering emotional episodic stories of each deceased person, while also slowly tying these stories together into the character arcs of Geu-ru and Sang-gu. I loved Sang-gu's character growth, growing from an obnoxious, mannerless freak to a kinder person that respects and cares for Geu-ru, helping him in his times of panic attack crises. ||

||What I loved the most though was Geu-ru's character in general. The in-depth flashbacks of young Geu-ru shown in the last episode broke my heart with how much his parents cared for him to the end, even with his struggles with Aspergers. The mother chose to keep raising Geu-ru till cancer took her away and the dad did as much mentoring to Geu-ru as he could before his sudden death came in the first episode. This show displayed possibly the best depiction of parenthood I seen in any media ever. It's through Geu-ru's job and the friends that care for him that he comes to find more things about his parents, gently pushing him to become a stronger and independent person that's able to finally move on from parental loss. ||

||This show 100% hammers in how important life is and how you should treasure the people close to you in every episode. Move to Heaven really hits close to home to me. The only thing I am still feeling antsy about after finishing this is how much variety of knowledge Geu-ru has to figure out exactly which people to give a deceased person's belongings too. That sort of high intelligence from Geu-ru came across as kinda unbelievable and over-exaggerated to me, but I can't speak from personal experience to make sure. ||

This is the Shawshank Redemption of k-dramas. A worthy emotional experience I highly recommend.

After seeing this, I think I finally given in to the live action drama rabbit-hole. I'm probably seeing more of these shows eventually, as most are free to watch on the Viki service. These shows tend to have more slice of life dramas that I tend to prefer in the anime/manga medium, so I must dig further. 🫣

The only thing that sucks about being invested in these live action-dramas is that no big analytical YouTubers and journalist want to analyze these shows in great depth. Only when dramas/movies hits mainstream mainstream that I can find anything analytical and substantial. 🙃 It's a hunch, but I think these live-action dramas are still in that phase where it's not a medium being widely appreciated, similar to how anime was treated back in the day.
