Had finished RoW yesterday night.
Starting with, the worst done chapter of the whole book was || Taravangian killing Rayse || RoW all

Really soured by enjoyment of what came after it

||I was spoiled it but even without that The way it was done was VERY predictable.
Cuz it was told before how it would go.
Sanderson forgot how to write surprises in this book. That had been my major issue with the earlier parts of this book as well, like how Taravangian's betrayal and Raboniel taking the tower, all was literally SAID before it happened how it would.
With even a timeframe of WHEN it would || RoW all

|| It had a lot of great moments. Like most of any Stormlight book (or probably most of any book I have read in general). It had amazing and painful moments for probably every character I cared about. Made me bawled a lot too.
But it was freaking unfocused, compared to every of the other Stormlight books. It doesn't have the closure that any of the other Stormlight books had. The various POVs are placed far and wide, the flashback parts seem largely distinct from the actual events unlike other books.

Sando has a specific structure in his Stormlight books, and he had perfected that in OB. Here the chapters are just placed where ever it is. It isn't completely a Navani's book, or Venli or Eshonai's. We end the book with a wonderful conclusion to Eshonai's character, but it feels so out of place with the book.

"Oathbringer my pride and my Shame" worked as an AMAZING ending cuz it provided a perfect closure to the book, and was also one of the best moments of Dalinar. Eshonai's is also amazing in the final chapter, but the book doesn't focus on her much for us to have that as impactful as I would have likeD || RoW end

RoW end || the big fight at the end of TWoK was absolutely masterfully built up to. the big fight at the end of WoR was a bit worse and also had some worse moments in it. by book 3 you're already expecting a big ass fight at the end, and then you see every character meeting up at a random ass city at the same time because all their arcs ended at the same time, and every moment feels like it just happens idk. and then in RoW we finally escape the big final fight with everyone - only getting the three separate fights in the tower which are peak, and the not really fight against the herald I forgot the name of, which is also incredible. ||

Finished 3 body book 4. Think its pretty cool that fanfiction got elevated to an 'official' book in the series but you can definitely tell, it sometimes feels amateurish.
