This likely caused her own death||

Finished Silence of the Lambs movie ||Very gripping and tense film. The cat-and-mouse narrative of discovering and finding a crazy criminal hooked me immediately. Hannibal was a fascinating and terrifying character. I like that even though he's clearly a criminal, he manages to guide and push Clarice in ways that help her grow to be more vigilant in catching Buffalo Bill. The only thing I felt a little bummed out by was how the epilogue was handled. I really liked Hannibal to a point where I didn't want to see the movie end off with him going to the Bahamas to eat someone. The way his character was sent off was a little underwhelming and left me wanting more. ||

I enjoyed it, it's nearly perfect. 🥺

I'm gonna see Saving Private Ryan tomorrow.

This seems to be another Spielburg film, the more films I see from him, the more I like him as a movie director. His films have been all good.

Arcane S2 Ep. 6 (Act II end) || Genuine masterpiece of an artistic endeavor. I felt like this act was absolutely packed with character work for nearly the entire cast, but obviously more so for Vi and Jinx. I love how tragic it all is. Giving the characters and audience a sense of false hope and stripping it away in the same breath.

That period in the 60s was because Sleeping Beauty was a commercial disaster (Its the best kovie though) and animated movies were only sellable to tiny children and animals were an easy sell

Arcane S1 END ||There's a scene in like S1E1 or S1E2 where Mylo is complaining to Vi about Powder. He mentions how she always fucks things up, how she holds them back, how she's dead weight, etc. There is a trope that happens that I despise actually where Powder only hears part of the conversation and doesn't hear Vi defend her. But what's funny is that the show actually corrects this almost immediately when Vi goes to Powder's room and tells her that despite her differences, she's strong. Actually I remember now, it's S1E1, Vi shows Powder how Claggor was running away and feel and how Mylo left a stamp of his asscheek or some shit when they were in trouble. It all builds up to Vi showing Powder her own of losing the bunny toy. (The same bunny toy Jinx keeps). Vi is trying to tell Powder that despite her mistakes, she is still her sister and everyone loves/protects each others despite what happens because they are all they have. Especially since they lost their parents. That's why Vi actually insults Mylo and tells Jinx to ignore the part about Powder not being able to do the stuff that Vi could at "half her age."||

She wants to be useful so badly and get that validation or acknowledgement from everybody so when Vi tells her to stay put in S1E3 in contrast to earlier in the series (Iirc, Vi wants to fight and wanted Powder to help them with traps but Vander convinced her otherwise with his "If anything happens to the group, it's on you" and she was reminded of what happened to her parents on the bridge) she understandably freaks out and assumes that the hextech crystals can help them. She gets punished for wanting to help and I think the show is trying to get you to sympathize with her because there's a world where Vi can be angry at her for what happened without hitting her and calling her a "jinx."||

These were the kind of passages I was thinking of, but skimming over I was clearly having bad faith reads of them

I think I was just critical because in the Skyward books Sanderson has a tendency to try and be really progressive and feminist and whatever but comes across a bit sloppy because he doesnt REALLY get it imo
