But the next time I did it, I went two books, then some manga or something, then another two books

Stormlight general || I like Shallan a lot and you know what, I wish Sanderson primarily dialed down on Kaladin’s self inflicted suffering ||

What sucks is that ||Shallan is like the representative for women in the series and there are cool things to like about her but idk her personality annoyed me, then I wasn't invested in the rest of her. Kaladin's endless cycle of self pity was also pretty lame. Idk there would be moments that were amazing, like Shallan and Kaladin vs the Chasm Fiend, Shallan becoming Vale to infiltrate the Ghost bloods was cool, obviously shit like Adolin and Kaladin in the arena, Dallinar's entire back story and his shit with Odium. But idk there's stuff that ruins it for me too. I love the series, I do. I just also have issues with it. I generally like Mistborn Era 1 better atm|| stormlight up to Oathbringer

They're short enough to keep children engaged but they're extremely mature as well, often dealing with a lot of the story points with a philosophical bent than most fantasy

West gets paired with a racist cop (it gets resolved with the Racist TO getting fired) after his TO gets promoted to Detective. Chen trains for Undercover cop work and takes down some heavy hitters. Nolan goes back to college, Lopez gets pregnant and gets married, which gets interrupted by the drug cartel kidnapping her because there was a lot of cartel shenanigans going on and she was the closest target. ||

I get the impression it's piecemeal compared to the book but I think they did a good job conveying the core themes, despite the gaps in character arcs. I'm saying that without having read it, but through the show I just had this consistent feeling of missing context for several of the key developments. It was like I was aware of them cutting out content without knowing what the content is lol- it was cool in the end. Liked the realistic action besides a few scenes and the cinematography was generally good besides that annoying distortion effect for the background thats popular in stuff recently||

Maybe it's not that way, though||

But the fandom of the show disgust me so much, it de-motivated to do. I remember watching i didn't completely enjoyed because i thought to much of the fandom from this show. (They're so mean people you can't have a good time talking to them).

But i would like to watch it again.
