I just watched the first episode of ATLA live action and it’s pretty ok

Book 1: ||good but ending brings it down and as is the case with most romance in kids shows, romance was cringe. But it had cool city vibes and I liked that||
Book 2: ||Completely shatters the allure of the original series by going way overboard with retconing the lore. Bad||
Book 3: ||Genuinely incredible stuff. More grounded and overall the most enjoyable season||
Book 4: ||Not good. I didn’t like this season much at all. And it sucks that it’s the final one. A lot of cringe stuff across the board||

Overall I liked the episode and most changes work, but one change I don't like is they changed the reason Aang wasn't at the air temple- he ran away. Zone of interest ||I'm not sure, that and the infared camera are the scenes that immediately stand out when watching the movie just because from how visually different they are from the rest of the movie. I'm not sure why it ends with him going just going down the stairs as well as the cut back to the modern day memorial ||

zone of interest ||Also there's that part in the middle of the movie where the screen slowly just becomes red and that droning soundtrack plays then it just hard cuts back to the movie||

Zone of Interest || those infrared scenes are based on a real Polish woman’s story and it indicates that she’s like the only source of light in a world of complete darkness, the polish woman used to distribute food and shit for prisoners by putting them in places where they could find, she died a few weeks after she met the director of the movie so her final legacy on the world is imprinted in a film forever ||

Zone of Interest ||Yeah it's really interesting, I don't really have the words to fully describe how I feel about some things but just the total indifference in the movie itself is interesting. Its almost like the movie is intentionally slow and dull because of that fly on the wall feeling. There's just so many things with this movie it can be hard to kinda begin to talk about it ||

Zone of Interest || if you observe, Höss never betrays anything verbally, he hardly speaks and whenever he does, it isn’t like it is of any emotional significance, he is more interested in the camp and the affairs of the camp, even facilitating new cremation spaces, his actions often feel like there is no rhyme or reason to dive deeply, it’s all vacant and empty, these are empty people ||

It's fucking chilling thinking that it was just nothing to them, background noise almost like it becomes in the movie. The like, only two times I can think they maybe acknowledge it is the kid looking out the window to see something, and the maid in the garden when she looks up hearing a gunshot ||
