i completely forgot to reply loki s2 MAJOR spoilers|| none of this is going to sound very compelling without seeing it, but essentially: After He Who Remains, Loki starts slipping through different points in time and ends up seeing the TVA at different points (important), he eventually manages to fix this by erasing himself from a bunch of timelines. Now that He Who Remains is gone the timelines are branching uncontrollably and the TVA isnt able to contain all of them anymore, to fix this the TVA tracks down a Kang Variant because they need him specifically to help them adjust the machinery to handle all the new times. Eventually they track him down and fix it, but it doesnt work and the entire TVA gets destroyed except for loki. Everyone that was in the TVA is teleported back to their ordinary human lives BEFORE the TVA, and loki finds himself time slipping uncontrollably again. Loki has to try and gather everyone up and convince them to help him because time is still unravelling, but its too late and the timelines start to fall apart. Instead he decides to completely change He Who Remain's system, by destroying the machinery in the TVA that held them all and personally holding every single timeline in existence with his magic so they wouldn't be destroyed. He ends up kind of trapping himself as a sort of God of Time in order to keep everything running smoothly ||
