You can take 90% of the ideas and make a baller AU but like fuck it this ending is rushed and while the Trinity being on fire while they fight the martians is cool. The issue is much like War Of The Undead Gods, the book feels like ut;s going plot point to plot point. As someone who was insanely hyped for this series and a big fan of Taylor's other AU's at the time of him teasing it on twitter. This is one of my biggest let downs from a writer I love.

Barbie ||I hated the way they portrayed the real world. It felt like a comical exaggeration of everything which made barbie’s choice to go there not make much sense. “It SUCKS to be a woman in the real world. I’m going to go there.” I just wish they had also focused on the good things about being a woman in the real world, too. Another thing that didn’t make much sense was Ken’s idea of patriarchy. He thinks the real world is super catered to men but when he was looking for jobs they denied him bc he wasn’t qualified. The end scene is killer though, that was great ||

I think the biggest thing to consider here is that the last strike happened in 2007
In 2007, while Social media was still a thing, it definitely did not have the same presence it has today
So back then they could sway public perception because the newspapers and media outlets were paid by the people up top, and basically controlled most of the public perception
But now a lot of the people who are striking have a bigger presence than the workers have ever had, thus trying to maintain their image is pointless without following them, and it is very much needed due to the model of involving investors
So they are now losing a lot of money, while strikers have public support and crowdfunding

then you have the others where they've clearly tried and failed amazingly and you get shit like the "12 disasters of christmas" or "6 headed shark attack"
