Dr who s13 || took me a while to get to it but I’ve made it to the FLUX. I’m two episodes in and it’s honestly great. The sontaran episode is on par with villa diodati for me that was so much fun. And as much as I loved graham (Ryan was eh) the doctor is so much better without 3 companions following her around. These bedazzled skeletons are pretty interesting, I don’t usually love when humanoid villains are given so much makeup they can hardly move their mouths but swarm’s acting it great. Dude is so unnerving. This season also isn’t pulling any punches with death, people are getting executed left and right. I just hope this season can maintain this level of quality ||

Doctor who s13 || okay I have finished the Finale of THE FLUX. This season had by far the best start to it of 13’s run, in fact I’d say the first four episodes were among the best in the last 3 seasons. Totally overstuffed with plotlines though and they all started to fall apart in the last two episodes. For starters most of these side characters are so uncompelling… Jericho was AMAZING and had a wonderful performance. Vinder and Bel were okay but their storyline ended like a match in water. I thought it was leading somewhere more interesting at least. Claire and Di are probably two of the least interesting characters in the series? I kept confusing them the whole time in fact whenever Di’s arm wasn’t shown, and I don’t really understand why she rejected Dan at the end? It makes it seem like she blames him for being late but that’s wildly illogical and I can’t wrap my head around that. I get the feeling she’s meant to be kind of traumatized after that whole ordeal and needs time to process it all but that just wasn’t communicated well at all. It seemed more like she blames Dan. The poor dude spent literal years in the 20th century. For that matter I don’t even know why Swarm left her alive in the passenger to begin with when everyone else left. This season had fantastic villains I’ll admit, in episode two the sontarans were portrayed really well. The ravagers have incredible designs and I seriously can’t get enough of Swarm on screen, I wanted so much more of him talking. I also really liked The Grand Serpent. He had a really intimidating presence and a great musical theme every time he did something evil. Apparently he’s just been left to starve to death on a rock now I guess? Or maybe he’s immortal for some reason, I don’t even know. Maybe Benedict cumberbatch can return later, that’d be cool. Part 1||
||The motive and endgame of the ravagers was a bit confusing but as I understand it, their ultimate goal was to unleash time from its restraints that had been inflicted upon it by space, that forced it into kind of a linear progression? I’m not sure how to feel about time being an actual deity behind it all though, and I wish the ravagers were expanded upon more. What really are they, where did they come from? The divison was probably one of the weakest parts to this whole conclusion, especially Tect’Teun. I can’t believe she actually died just like that and didn’t come back, but more than that what the hell was her plan? She wanted to stop the doctor from preventing the flux so she decided to bring her to the ship that’s responsible for the causing the flux? Is that not batshit stupid? And finally, what the fuck happened to the universe? There was no indication that the events of the flux were reversed in any way, is the entirety of the universe aside from earth actually destroyed? Are they just carrying on as if there isn’t literally one planet left? I assume that’ll be wrapped up in one of the specials but that’s such an odd place to end it. Finally the doctor herself. I found 13 to be by far at her best this whole season. As much as I liked Graham, in fact Yaz was probably the weakest companion for me last season, the doctor improved by leaps and bounds this season with less companions (at first). Even with Dan and karvanista and that lot in fact she remained much more compelling than before. All in all I can’t lie I’m disappointed with how it ended, it had a lot of potential. The first four episodes were solid however, this is still my favorite season of 13’s run. 6.6/10||

Ok ok, this is gonna be a bit of a ramble but I just found this book that I used to LOVE as a child. I forgot most of the contents but I know I was obsessed with them and reading about the books makes me think that it is actually very similar to OP in a lot of ways. Dreamy, adventurous and full of mystery. It's meant for younger people in their teens but I honestly think it's a timeless series of books that anyone can read. I'm talking about Walter Moers and his Zamonia series of books. There's 5 of them I believe and they are super freaking good. If any of you are looking for some fun reads, I suggest picking up these
