Greenbone book 1 ch 9 || looking good so far. Not used to modernish settings so can't visualise the world all that well yet, but I really like most of the characters so far. Only Anden seems a bit too whiny lol. But yeah, the cast is great. Really like the portrayal of Lan's struggles as pillar conflicted between his old advisor, his younger brother and the old-man-stuck-in-the-past grandda. Has to be the highlight of the book so far.
The magic system is decent, tho it doesn't seem all that unique so far. Will probably find out better as the book goes on ||

Greenbone book 1 ch 9 || one thing i will say is the setting seems a bit confusing at times cz like the fighting and the politicking seems what i would expect more in a medieval setting even though the world is modern, so like i expected things like guns and technology to play a much bigger role than it seems to have. ||

Bcs s3 ep 5 || what i like about how this situations in the series happened is that neither side is in the right, Jimmy “fired the first shot” because he wanted to help Kim at the expense of breaking the law and screwing over hhm which led to chuck playing him with the tape so it was this constant back and forth. Chuck also said he doesnt hate Jimmy, and i think its partially true, but from what we saw in flashbacks i do think he holds some level of disdain for him. Examples such their mother calling for him on her deathbed and jimmy making jokes and having a good time with his wife at their dinner because of his charisma, and chuck attempting to also make a joke but it failing led chuck’s pride seeing Jimmy’s success as antagonistic to himself and what he holds sacred (the law) but at the same time jimmy is no saint, he has good intentions but he still fucks up a lot of things along the way and he gets bribed fairly easily , but, and this has happened twice now that i can think of (maybe more in smaller moments), his true character was revealed in those moments at the extreme, he didnt need to save those 2 boys from tuco, and he would have gotten out of that situation either way, but he risked his own skin to stop tuco from killing them. Even after doing all this forgery and fraud he laid it all out to chuck just because he was worried for his health, with no regard for his own outcome. Both of them are great unique characters and who’re polar opposites of each other ||
