Korra s1 || I just disliked the start of it. I usually dislike modernization which feels off in the series and for korra it kinda did for me ||
|| And I couldn't like Korra at the start so didn't have the motivation to continue ||

I mean I love dr who but if someone says it sucks I can understand it
Not because I could ever see a world where it actually sucks, but because I know it probably won't ever be everyone's cup of tea
absolutely brilliant innit
The reviews for the first 2 episodes have been pretty good
Yeah, don't watch the trailers tbh

Anyone watches The Sandman on Netflix? I love the graphic novel but I'm still not sure about the show

Pucca moment
I have watched the show only and found it great.
@modern lichen has read the graphic novels and watched it too so he would be able to help ig
The show is pretty good

What is the universe of The Expanse like? What are the cultures and histories of Earth, Mars and the belt? How does gravity work in The Expanse? How does science and technology affect people and relationships? What are the roles of Holden, ...
Noted
It takes a while to grab you. First couple of episodes is world building
expanse was good but it kinda nosedived later
definitely not best sci fi ever though
Has anyone listened to the Batman unburied podcast on Spotify?
Right now, there’s only one great sci-fi show on television that’s more science than fiction, and I got on a dang spaceship just so I could tell you why, and why that’s so important.

The War that Time Forgot was a comic book feature published by DC Comics beginning in 1960 in the title Star Spangled War Stories, created by Robert Kanigher, Ross Andru and Mike Esposito. It ran for eight years, ending in 1968 and returned as a limited series in 2008.

Me and my brother accidentally skipped that episode when we first watched breaking bad

Did you watch it before continuing on?
Or did you never come back to it until you had completed it
We didn't notice until we were almost finished the show I think

We watched it when we realised
What happened
You dmed him a call and were in there by yourself for some time
Did you butt dial him?
I literally was sleeping wtf
Maybe change your password 🥴
@brave orbit so were you hacked or
I think I fell asleep with the phone on and since Discord is now with a stupid UI it started the call
Probably explains why I found it with battery dead
Did you hear something @sage sleet
If you joined
idk
nah i didn't join lol
was weird bc it started as a message request n when i accepted you were in the call for like 8 min
and if nobody joins a priv voice call after 5 min or so it disconnects you
and last i checked you were nearly at 30 min
so yeah def change your password just in case
It was me I am the hacker
turn yourself in
Is that why the script I was writing turned bad

I just saw a reddit post about Midnight Club and it's making me wanna get Netflix when it comes out
What time does Ring of Power come out?
It's just an insane design, looks like he made the movie
Looking at the remaining movies this year i only want to see about 5 of them
and only 2 of them come to theaters

I was at a bookstore and found Hyperion for like 2 bucks lmao. Went ahead and snagged it. I know you like this alot @broken fossil I'll probably read it after I finish Way of Kings.

Breaking bad S5 E15 ||Love how Gray Matters ignited Walt's fury and made him not give up. He was literally ready to turn himself in after losing everything lol. Glad they use the main series theme for this, I liked that a lot
||
Genndy Tartakovsky went pretty far in only 5 years
This is out of left field, but can someone please explain in simple terms how Game of Thrones season 8 ruined the entire show? Explain it in terms that someone who hasnt watched the show at all would understand please
it resolved plot lines too quickly and jumped to the end of the character arcs for many characters
and the dialouge was shit

@modern lichen do you need to watch the trilogy to watch Rings of power
Asking for a friend
Is this way before the hobbit? Like how many years
Idk like a lot
thousands of years
Tf
its set in the age before the age lord of the rings and the hobbit is set in
the show takes place in the second age, the hobbit and lotr are set in the end of the third age
After finishing got s3 i can confidently say it’s my favourite show || I don’t think i have ever cried whilst watching a show as i did during the wedding, everyone was happy
THEY WERE GONNA NAME THEIR SON NED
, i knew that the red wedding was a thing and that robb, his wife and Catelyn were gonna die but nothing prepared me for the moment the rains of castamere started playing
, on a happier note i love bronn a lot and tywin sending joffery to bed was the biggest chad move in the series, i love him and jamies moment in the bath was top 3 moments in the series, been loving post hand chop jamie || GAME OF THRONES SEASON 3 END

Rings of power || I thought that elven chick is going to swim all the way to middle earth lol 😆 ||
Lol me too
man rings of power's imdb ratings are so shit
I think most of the early reviews are just review bombing
LOTR fans are so self-congratulatory
I don't think any fan of any media franchise wants a full marvel type adaption saga
it's not unique to their series
Rings of power || are wizards born like that in lotr world ||
Rings of Power || we don't know who the stranger is ||
I honestly didn’t get that vibe
from the post? it's literally saying that LOTR has "too much subtlety" for hollywood in 2022

So self obsessed
Ring of Power || I read a review saying it could be wizard and might be related to gandalf and how he is with fireflies etc ||
|| Yeah I get what the post is saying. But I was so distracted from enjoying the visuals and being back in middle earth that I didn’t really consider all those aspects || ring of power
oh this post isn't about rings of power
it's just something I saw on the subreddit under a post saying "LOTR shouldn't have a cinematic universe"
Oh okay I thought it was in anticipation for rings of power
Tolkien fans are stuck in a self righteous circlejerk
It’s so funny cause we thought it was going to be the lotr movie fans that were going to go off the rails
I personally thought it was good
Yeah me too
Watch episode 1 of rings of power

Rings of power ep 1 ||Remove the 50 minutes of exposition and its good||
Lol
I'm just chalking it up to ep 1 shit
Hopefully it just had to do the heavy lifting
Rings of power ep 1 ||Visuals were great and the world felt so much more vibrant here, esp love the harfoot||
Rings of Power ep 1 || I honestly think they could’ve spent maybe a little bit more time explaining Margoth and why the elves left middle earth.. It kinda felt like they jumped right in ||
Yeah precisely the point
Rings of power ep 1 ||bad guy does bad stuff i think||
And that’s all you really understand from it tbh lol
Rings of Power ep 1 || morgoth is the Lucifer parallel, the highest of angels who rebels against the creator of the universe ||
Rings of Power ep 1 || he is original dark lord and the master of Sauron who rose to be dark lord and this show essentially is his story along with the forging of the rings ||
But yeah, Tolkien fans are self righteous circlejerkers
Ring of Power || yeah I know that much of it but only from before… I don’t remember them really giving much background. Only that Sauron was his lieutenant ||
ROP ep 1 ||All the stuff about evilness in here comes off as so outdated, idk if it's just me ||
I couldn't resist and read your comments
||It does come off as outdated because Tolkien was really adamant about absolute evil and absolute good. He take a lot of his inspiration from the Christian religion for arda's moral grounds. There is no grey areas between the good and the evil. This why it comes off as outdated IMO|| ROP
I think, haven't seen the series yet
||Yea but i think its also because the characters are a bit more flawed here so talking about evilness etc comes off meh|| ROP
||idk, maybe it comes down to the mythology of Arda, the beginning of times etc. Basically what harsh said about morgoth being lucifer, the rebel. So while the people of the middle earth can be flawed, the greater beings are not, and they are either good or evil|| rop
ROP ep 1 ||I mean JRRT wrote this back in the 30s and 40s

Kryptonian aging is kind of all over the place
Cause it's like at a certain point he goes from aging like a normal human to aging extremely slowly
Yeah technically the transition from childhood to adulthood is relatively fast
But adulthood shouldn't take like 500 years the race would die out from babyism at that point
I'm gonna write a thesis on babyism
Major Bojack Horseman spoilers
||Bojack's ultimate mantra of "nothing in life matters, but because nothing matters it's important to find things that matter to us" is in my opinion a crutch towards responsibility and allows one to avoid true reflection when analyzing the position of self from a negative place. It is both not nihilism because it goes full circle and gives the characters a meaning in life (which is to have a meaning basically), and nihilism because it fails to provide an actual explanation of what "finding what matters to us" means. Like, though I related to Bojack's character at times, and part of me enjoyed that his acquaintances distanced themselves during the conclusion... it almost felt like an absolution of blame? in a sense.||
||This circles back to my evaluation of the philosophical paradigm of the show, but Bojack's concrete resolutions with the rest of the main cast (sans hollyhock) felt like the writers forcing the issue because their show got cancelled or something. Because there's a finality to the relationships he had, I struggle to think he'll learn from them in the future given he's someone who learned exclusively from tragedy in the past rather than his own actions. As such I can't imagine he'll actually "find that meaning" I was talking about earlier and will continue his vicious cycle until death. This was especially apparent in that final episode as he's having a comedic time in a max-security prison directing plays (low consequence), only to further throw himself into his fame addiction once again and repeat his actions. TO THIS EXTENT the series is nihilistic because it doesn't actually offer a sense of meaning outside of the meandering "meaning" that Bojack will continue to chase with his new relationships and experiences, and as is precedent from his prior behavior I see no reason this will resolve.||
||I wouldn't have a problem with this conclusion if the series was trying to be nihilistic, but the "sometimes life's a bitch and you keep on living" line that comes right at the end soured my hopes that it was and proved that ultimately it was an exercise in bleak motivational droll. I really wonder what the show could have been with a much slower 6th season and 2/3 more seasons of relationship building. ||

It’s basically up to the writer at the time but kryptonians are essentially just humans in their solar system (red sun). They change their physiology when under the light of our sun and that’s what has then aging slowly or whatever.
Major Bojack Horseman spoilers
|| ok i see what you mean now, but i disagree on a fundamental point.
i personally never saw bojack as someone who's going to get a redemption at any point, or someone that anyone should relate to (although i def related to some aspects). bojack exists there as a showcase of what would happen if someone got away with all he did, and how the circumstances of his life - from childhood to having a boatload of money to enable his shenanigans - further influence that. it's basically an extreme what if scenario.
and tbh, i don't think he would ever learn, he will always be the same person because a lifetime of issues like his isnt something you could fix most of the time. like in that final scene on the roof, he kept leaning towards diane in which i assume was him contemplating going for a kiss/hug. he never learned and never will, he just perpetually exists in this vicious cycle. ||
|| >it almost felt like an absolution of blame? ||
|| im not sure if you mean bojack or the people that distanced themselves from him here. or maybe it's smth else but i still dont get it ||
Major Bojack Horseman spoilers
|| as for the message of the show in the conclusion, i think youre just not part of the target demographic for that message. at least that's what this "an exercise in bleak motivational droll" tells me, which is accurate.
i think other than shining the spotlight on toxic characteristics all manifested in bojack , the show is aiming its message about life at people that had already gone past the point of finding any meaning. idk if you remember this but there was a scene when bojack crashes a party and talks to lady crying in the bathroom, he tells her that everyone manages somehow at the end. that's the level of lifeline the target demo is looking for, people that would just like to manage, at least that's what i see in it.
same goes for this "a crutch towards responsibility and allows one to avoid true reflection when analyzing the position of self from a negative place, which again is accurate. other than the issue of whether it's a good message to send to people or not, being manipulated into finding a meaning in life by accepting that there's no meaning is an effective strategy.
other than that, the other characters escaping bojack is the message for those that need it. every one of the million toxic and manipulative traits he shows affects someone in the show, so i think showcasing said traits and how to escape them is the other message for the other viewers. and ive herad stories of it being genuinely effective from acquaintances. ||
|| and as a side note on nihilism itself, i think the show does a good job of showcasing the underlying irony of the philosophy. even the most pessimistic of nihilists still live and find some fulfillment/purpose. so something like diane's character arc for example was good, and it's what leads into her conclusion of life's a bitch then you live. ||

House of the Dragon || man GoT theme is just so good
||
Goof
House of The Dragon ep 1 || man this was the most fulfilling part of the episode for me. Her being the queen was the great part on its own but reference (prophecy) of the Winter and name drop was fulfilling in the sense as it reminded me of the great parts of GOT show and how great this world was/is. ||
House of the Dragon/GoT question || Is the city more prosperous in the time of HotD than it was in Baratheon's reign? We later see and hear that the city is slowly detiorating (forgot what term they exactly used) from what it was before Viserys's rise into throne but yea.
It looks old compared to the city during Robert Baratheon's time but looks more prosperous? ||
hotd/got ||king's landing in game of thrones is so much bigger but westeros entered its golden age during the reign of jaeherys and viserys who we see in the show||
Ah
hotd/got ||by the time we get to game of thrones, robert is far into his rule of westeros and the seven kingdoms are in debt||
hotd/got ||robert's rebellion happened due to a lot of factors but the kingdom were then already in decline||
HoTD/GoT|| yeah I just remembered that line from the show that "Robert was a great fighter but a bad king" or smth along the lines of that regarding that. ||
hotd/got ||yeah, robert was one of the greatest warriors westeros has ever seen, no doubt but he didnt want to be king at all and spent most of his time being debaucherous||
hotd/got ||viserys is also a guy who doesnt look suitable to be a king, but he naturally is a good man at heart and has the charisma to pull people in||
Hotd/got || one nitpick/gripe I had with GoT was how context for the all the crazy shit that started was given after it had started to take place (unless I am forgetting some events).
Liking Hotd's approach as it feels like its taking its time setting stuff up properly(?)
But it already feels heavy in tone than how GoT's first episode was ||
got ||game of thrones starts in the aftermath of the major events of robert's rebellion||
Yeah. || Unless I remember wrong. We were fed context of it and its effects slowly after Robert had died? At least most of it. || GoT
hotd/got ||this chronicles the entire story of the war of succession after viserys 2, that has the context of robert's rebellion already happening and this comes in the aftermath of that and basically tells the story of how the events of this series changed westeros forever||
hotd/got ||we were told a lot by robert himself in the very first episode||
Ig some of that flew over my head when I was watching it.
Also
hotd || do you think we will in some way get more info of during Aegon's conquest in this series? ||
Maybe
HotD || we already saw that Aegon's dragon dream was called Song of Ice and Fire ||
Yea
HotD/ASOIAF || this part wasn't in the books nor in any other place so this must be the origin of that title that Martin himself must've suggested to the showrunners ||

Bojack
||While Bojack is obviously a reprehensible human, and s5 serves as a monument to that, the watcher is given opportunities to relate to him and his struggle through his self reflection. I’m not saying he was written to be a self insert or whatever, but that he’s toxic person with redeeming factors that you sort of kind of root for sometimes because you’ve seen yourself act in similar ways. Regardless, that’s independent of my actual problems with the show.||
||When I say absolution of blame, I mean that Bojack’s final conclusions with his friends gave him a sense of finality that he A. wasn’t entitled to and B. prevented him from directly acknowledging how his actions affected other people. A world in which the show builds up to everyone abandoning him a la Hollyhock, maybe besides MrPB, only for him to then be in this position again would be IMO more hopeful and supportive of the general “sometimes life sucks and you just keep going” mantra. ||
Juba i just wanna say im enjoying reading what ur saying
Beowulf is so cool
More Bojack
||I probably am not part of the target demographic I guess? But I’d say that’s only because I’ve read/watched so much media with similar messages. Do you mean that the target demographic is the personification of the crying lady in that bathroom? I think the message was a little broader than that.
It can be an effective strategy but, while anecdotal (and tbh an anecdotal experience with something is fine in this case as it’s literally just my interpretation of a show), I have never seen it work out in the long run for someone. I consider it to be in the same tier as “faking it till you make it”, along with intense religious worship to fill a void. Once again I want to emphasize that while there’s nothing wrong with a character like this existing as a nihilist, it almost feels the show tried to have its cake and eat it too. They pump the flippant motivational speak as the end message as to attempt to speak towards a future hope one should have, while still ending up nihilist; it’s a comfortable and catering philosophy.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely happy with them for leaving Bojack’s life, I just wish they had done it quicker and more abruptly. It’s explained up above but essentially because I feel he won’t learn like this.
Right and I get that, Diane I think is obviously more stable than Bojack but still has her myriad of issues and her mostly moving past them (as far as we can tell) was more earned. But even with her I felt a lack of positive acknowledgement of actions and a sense of absolution again; she did some fucked up shit that I don’t think she acknowledged.
Ultimately, my interpretation of the show relies on
A. That I believe it to be ultimately nihilistic
and
B. That I dislike nihilistic conclusions.
So given that those two reasons are entirely subjective I really don’t mean to undermine what other people got out of the series as it’s entirely their prerogative. I still couldn’t shake these feelings, though

The first Christopher reeves one is good apparently
Just adapt one of the 50 million Superman dies comics and turn him into a martyr
but then it got fucked by the studio for the second one lol
i have to watch those old ones
have you ever read about the failed nick cage superman
I need that
Lmao no
love nick cage
the director wanted it to end with a giant spider fight, and for him to have like 0 superman powers
the guy was insane
Superman Lives (previously titled Superman Reborn) is the title for a canceled Superman movie intended for production during the 1990s. The film was to be directed by Tim Burton and produced by Jon Peters. The story would feature Brainiac, Lex Luthor and Doomsday as villains. Wesley Strick and Dan Gilroy wrote the screenplays that were nearly fi...
this documents it all
All Star Superman
it went through several directors before finally dyin
I would've paid to see it but we ended up getting a movie entirely about Nick Cage anyways
Oh my god Tim burton?
nick cage looks sick in that photo
He does not LOL
Man needs some milk
he was pretty good looking when he was young but he looks like he's all pink here
He looks sick but the bad kind of sick
We missed out on goth Superman
jesus christ
whats up with his neck
is there like a skin part on the suit
Padding? lol
no idea
finally getting around to seeing paul schraders first movie, and all these other movies before they leave hbo max this month
Nice
i wish more movies tried doing painted posters like back in the day
Cat People is nice
i just chose cat people beacuse it looked strange and short
no i want to see actors heads stacked on each other
they can paint the actors
having this poster in my room has made me unable to like any poster that isnt painted
Yeah I fucking miss good ol painted movie posters
this is another painted one i really like
this is literally floating heads but so much nicer
Tintin is an underrated series.
tintin is very cool but my desire to check out more of it is impeded by the ethos of the author
I know "separate the artist" and all that but I simply can't get past it in this case
Primal s2 ep8 || this pharoah woman is no joke lol. I like how she's the first enemy we've seen in the series that actually does bad out of flawed morality, because everyone we've seen so far in the series has only been trying to survive or feed their families. She might be the first actually evil antagonist so far. ||
What Herge did in ‘44 was indeed in unforgivable, but I think on Tintins case, the content is thankfully unrelated to the ideologies Herge was alleged to have supported.
it's definitely unrelated but I feel like this with disney films a lot of the time as well, just icky
The Star Wars one is just legendary
cut my backlog down to just this
Ultimate Spider-Man vol 1 is on my tab rn and this SS is on my laptop
House of the dragon ep 2 || he's gonna marry alicent
. ||
Nope
That is cursed, thank you
Watching nope tmr
have fun
Pretty good movie
@modern lichen did you watch CR?
Have fun. It's a good movie
That was a really good first ep of For All Mankind s3
Anyone watch rings of poder?
yeay
ep1 is good
idk I just finished watching ep1
she hulk ep 3 is really good
I need to watch ep 3
She hulk e3 ||Dude the wrecking crew looks so hilariously bad lmao||
shehulk ep 3 ||i like that its not taking itself too serious and the meta humor is good too. that bit with all the internet complaints about she hulk was hilarious, probably copy and pasted straight from actual complaints
. also "thor's inspirational speeches are not admissible in court" lmaooo||
she hulk ep 3 || I only know about wolverine mention and the twerking meme
||
it was some easter egg or something
I don't watch she hulk I just see stuff online
She Hulk || Apparently in a news website or smth that they were browsing in the show ||
Saw on twitter during ep 2 I think
she hulk || it was just a background headlien article in a single shot or smth. "man with metal claws in bar fight" or something like that||
she hulk ep3 ||are they like a major group in the comics or something?||
||they just look like a bunch of twerps||
Yeah
She-Hulk/Marvel Comics ||I forget their actual names aside from one but his name is wrecker and he can turn into whatever substance he touches. So like if he were to touch Thor’s hammer or adamantite, he would turn his body and mess things up. They are cool villains as brainless mooks who cause a lot of trouble so it’s kinda silly seeing them as a bunch of nobodies ||
Wait I’m totally wrong lmfao
Marvel comics ||The guy I’m thinking of is absorbing man
His name is Crusher Creel so I thought he was part of the wrecking crew since all of them have names like that. Bulldozer, wrecker, piledriver, etc||

anyone seen bullet train?
Evan
my theater is doing $3 tickets otmorrow and its the only interesting looking thing
okay ill see if he said anything good about it
okay he said it was amazing
thats good enough
For All Mankind s3 ||SHIT SHIT SHIT FUUUUUUCK||

I know this is like the worst place to pause it but fuck I need sleep
I'll get some reading done before I hit the hay tho
Dark Ark #7 cover
cant stop thinking about rings of power
the first episode is a bit slow paced but the spectacle will sweep you up
the second episode is far more fast paced
the show is just incredible to look at
I think I saw people complaining it's too slow
thats kinda weird
who is gonna watch anything lotr related expecting shit to go guns blazing in the first 5 minutes
yeah the first episode is on the slower side but they're building up on it slowly
gonna watch ep 2 later
rings of power || is it true they can't show morgoth because amazon doesn't have the rights? ||
Dark Ark #8 cover
i actually enjoy the slower pace, its a granular story
that sweeps you up as it goes
rings of power ||yeah they cant show morgoth||
kinda funny how embracer just owns everything now but amazon wasn't able to get the rights for some things
how tf did that happen
money certainly wasn't the issue
rings of power ||tbf the show is set completely after the war and is telling the story of sauron's influence corrupting the world and the forging of the rings||
She hulk ep3 ||man everyone hating on this show is stupid, Jennifer and Megan thee stallion fucking twerking lol||
She hulk ep3 ||I also like that the show itself leans into the sexist comments people were gonna write no matter what and incorporated it into the story||
Dark Ark #9 & #11 covers

5 more issues and I'm done with this and there's a sequel after
Nice
How youtube hasn't banned Nerdrotic is beyond me
Why is he still in my fucking feed ahhhhhhhhhh
Point doesn't change anyway...
If you block him he won't show up on your feed

pretty sick story ngl
Dark Ark (END) ||During Noah's Ark times, God has flooded earth and an ancient evil deity has tasked Shrae, a sorcerer, with building a similar ark for all the evil creatures in the world, only for there to be mutinies, gargantuan creatures that were physical manifestations of the old gods, and The Fallen (who are fallen angels who were sent to earth to suffer for seeking a higher power and god was not a fan of the lustfulness of these power-hungry angels)||
Oh dang
Dark Ark - After The Flood #1 cover
Looks like a much shorter run, cutting it by 2/3s
only 5 issues
Guess I'll just read this, then my ongoings to catch up on
Sounds good
Dark Ark - After The Flood #5 (END) cover
wow it's already over lmao

Dark Ark - After The Flood (END) ||Resurrection has only infuriated God and has decided to cast another flood
the end-||
dang

The rings of power ep 2 was so much better than ep 1
Just realised that the main actress in Shiki-Jitsu is also the writer of the novel the story is based on
Wtf
LOL
Rings of power || https://twitter.com/ItsDanSheehan/status/1565930020236709888 ||
Card counter / First reformed / Master Gardener @feral kettle man he's mad about that list
Breaking bad season 2 episode 10 ||oh naw Jane did my boy Jesse dirty. Why can’t he ever get up in life||
obama definitely did not watch that movie
i like to think he did and just enjoyed the poker
Breaking bad s2 ep 10 ||skylar being very sussy||
Breaking bad s2 ep 11 ||jesse done got this girl on drugs||
First Reformed was pretty good
Its about climate change
Quite distributing
Bruh
I was so distributed
Greatness
Enjoy
Lemme know what you thought of it once you're done
Would be interesting
i havent seen it in a decade
just wanted the chance to see a classic in the theaters
seeing Heat in 4k tonight too
yea i saw the new george miller this morning too😭
The third act takes a really sharp turn narratively
Huh
i dont think its bad tho
I mean, it's no Fury Road

If there’s a word for “every single frame served a purpose” … I’d use it to describe fury road
CR C3 latest ||dude FCG being an assassin bot for political figures is awesome||
CR C3 latest || the later portion of the episode was so fun, outing in a sandstorm, Chetneys heist and then those final moments with the fuckin call to arms, love the fuckery at last minute ||
This campaign has truly got me now
CR C3 latest ||yeah that whole chetney solid snake mission was cool||
CR C3 latest || Ashton and Launda having a convo about trauma in a fuckin sandstorm AHAHA ||
yeah it was funny Matt explaining it after the convo
CR C3 latest ||its like they forgot they went out into the sandstorm so they're all whispering but in reality they're yelling lol||
@modern lichen Man jaws was amazing in theaters
Im really pessimistic when it comes to like mainstream classic films but this blew away my expectations

Jaws ||also something really surprising the kid dying actually mad me almost tear up||
I think im being de-desensitized to violence in media
Jaws || Robert Shaw as Quint is a force of nature ||
Jaws ||also obviously the score and cinematography was amazing, but every jumpscare got me lol||
Jaws || every single kill is just so hard to parse, it's just innocent people trying to have a good time ||
My dude John Williams with the score

Almost entirely failed
It's crazy
Spielberg is a mad genius
God I love Spielberg, such a madlad
might be one of my favorite cinema experiences
i think i have a good idea of what i want to do as my college essay lol
About movies?
yea
I think im gonna write about learning to appreciate all forms of cinema and in turn all forms of art
lol i hope the admission board agree
Talk about how overrated scorcese is
Or how bad Dr who is
Shut the fuck up lol
To whomst
scorsese is the goat
He eats grass yea
I think the best movie experience I ever had was watching interstellar in IMAX
anyone here watched Titans? I liked the first two seasons, but the third now was utter shite
Titans goes to shit after the first season imo
technically after the 1st episode of the 2nd season since that was supposed to be the season finale
ohh I didnt know that
Titans ||yeah the Trigon fight was supposed to be the season finale and I don't remember why it got delayed, probably CGI or some shit||
i still need to see this movie
😭
its like the only nolan film i have genuine interest in
besides maybe the dark knight
I enjoyed it
idk if this is a spoiler but I'll put it in spoilers anyways
Interstellar ||I understood the theory of relativity because of that movie||
Titans ||yeah it was probably budget constraints. But looking at how bad it was in season 2 and now in season 3 it seems like 90% of the budget went into the costumes||
At some point I wish that DC was aquired by Disney, so we would get some good shit
I mean in terms of live-action series
the cartoons are great
DC just needs 1 person like Kevin Feige working in the background
and actually take their time to develop their characters
DC skipped a few steps and went straight into JL instead of each member having their own movie where they could be fleshed out
Justice League War ||Imagine if they did solo movies for each JL member and then in an after credits scene they show mother boxes appearing and fucking shit up which ultimately leads into something like the Justice League War story and they officially become the Justice League||
yea zack snyder💯
at this point i dont think DC needs a cinematic universe
just have different auteurs have their own universe and give them control
rn its james gunn and matt reeves
unfortunately not snyder
I feel like Zack Snyder would rather make movies than be a producer like Kevin
Trueee!! I wish they gave Ben Afleck‘s Batman his own movie
But then again I am kinda tired of seeing Batman‘s origin story and how Gotham is going to shit in every reincarnation. Wasn‘t even that big a fan of the recent Batman movie. It‘s a good movie, but as a DC fan I feel like you get tired of the edgy, broody superhero trope.
Batfleck movie def would not have been an origin
true
i wish it came into fruition
I think his was actually my favourite Batman portrayal so far.
its tough for me
i love pattinson
but in the past week ive become a snyderverse stan
Absolutely love affleck batman
I think I’ll agree with you for now until The Batman 2 sways my view
Pattinson was great, but it gave me nothing out of what I expected.
But wait, I think I am doing a disservice to the Norton movies
hes in batman?
who?
ed norton ?
I think he means nolan
Dark Knight is a classic
im seeing it tomorrow
for Heath Ledger alone
was kinda shocked back then, when I found out afterwards that the Joker was played by him
only reason iwant to watch the films
did i miss titans talk
lol ive grown to like jared letos joker but only for one scene
that isnt in suicide squad
synder bros
love how people went ballistic when WB new CEO said he wanted a more structured universe like marvel as if universes haven't been a thing
yep
i don't mind jared leto's joker at least the one from the snyder cut
he was incredible. Nobody imagined that he would thrive in the role like he did
honestly I was one of those people
huh
that thought ledger was a terrible casting choice
ah i see
didn't know who they were til i watched the movie
i'm neutral on them like they did good but i'm not one of those people that's like HEATH DID IT THAT FRAME AT 12:04:122243 WHERE HE TOOK A BREATH WAS ORGASMIC
he did good that's all ik
now I wanna go to the 12min mark of the movie and see what it is
even though I know that was just a random number lol
now i'm afraid to see what it is
it probably doesnt even have him in it
man i hope black adam is good
why would it be good, the rock is in it
parts look good but overall sumn feels off
i read this as wouldnt
the only good thing about black adam is they had a kanye song in the trailer
the rock is in elvis??????????
you forgot about Be Cool!!
cubena
gay the Rock was dope
very family movie but more humor than i expected wasn't just childish
everytime I see that movie come up I think of that mr sunshine song
the dark knight ||its just alfred going into the batcave||
||alfred is joker...|| the dark knight
joel edgerton is in a lot of movies
I liked him in Warrior
Green Knight sound like a great movie idea. Joker being the Batman
oh dang lol
yeah I read about that legend and I thought it would make for a boring movie
Watched the Fantastic beast movies. Not thrilled
They’re such a miss it’s actually crazy that they fumbled so hard on them
Were they fantastic
Hell no
Were they beastly?
Fantastic beasts trilogy || there’s barely any fantastic beasts outside of the first one. It just devolves into Grindenwald prequel which nobody really cares about. Should’ve just made those their own movies without having Newt Scamanander, a zoologist, be part of the entire thing. Same era? Sure but there was so much that the writers could’ve done with a movie called FANTASTIC BEASTS and WHERE TO FIND THEM. Actually show the FANTASTIC BEASTS, maybe even travel the world to different wizard schools. We don’t even see Newts briefcase ||
Rob what you said is even funnier when you realize they're written by JK Rowling
and it wasn't adapted by another writer

Actually fumbling da bag
fantastic beasts ||if JK Rowling wanted to make movies about Dumbledore and Grindelwald she should have just done that instead of naming them fantastic beasts and adding newt into that shit||
have you read the books wanze?
Nope
well I can say they're at least better than the movies
idk dude i watched em like 2 years ago again n i just didn't enjoy them. Like everyone says they're sumn else but it was just shit slowly piecing together and even then i was like ok ig
i even tried to give fantasic beasts a try
potential sorta but fell flat
ill watch the latest one
Yeah they’re like cobbled together loosely. Maybe the books are more coherent by virtue of being longer and being able to explain stuff but these movies are going at break neck speeds and barely functioning.
Also Radcliffe is a terrible actor (as a teen, maybe he gets better as he ages)
L
Typical
I've never heard anyone not liking Harry Potter movies
im assuming thats what HP stands for.. but if its not than that makes sense
It is
word than idk
growing up there were two types of people
those who liked harry potter... and those who couldn't watch it for religious purposes
Have you seen them recently?
like rewatched them?
Sure, or for the first time. I don’t know your history with them
I think I rewatched one of them recently.. I think maybe Order of The Pheonix
just cause it was on
Just the soundtrack alone makes them good
Then the world is one of the best portal fantasies
Lol
JKR we don't talk about

omg!
God I love John Williams
if he did other stuff like than me freakin too
Basically all his tracks are iconic
anything I would recognize?
Star Wars, Harry Potter, literally every Spielberg movie (ET, Jurassic Park, etc.)
Longtime Spielberg collaborator John Williams, who composed the film's musical score, described the challenge of creating one that would generate sympathy for such an odd-looking creature. As with their previous collaborations, Spielberg liked every theme Williams composed and had it included. Spielberg loved the music for the final chase so muc...
YEah!!! I use to loveeee that song
