one of my favorite mistakes I did was when I started drawing the ground after drawing the head, then proceeded to do the rest of the body.
it often ended up in weird poses because I drew the ground a bit too close

instead of thinking of it as a skirt
try imagining it as a cone
which it essentially is
you can sort of bend the parts here and there to make it fit, but the basic shape is that of a cut off cone

you can like draw the outline of the bottom part
and draw the outline of the part at the waist
then you connect it from there

the transition from traditional to digital can be kinda rough since you have to find the tablet/drawing program/brush settings that work for you

it took a lot of tweaking and small adjustments before I found what I liked

and what felt right

so don't worry if your digital stuff doesn't look like theirs, they've likely been drawing digitally for 5-10+ years

basically learning a new medium after all

I guess for me in my experience it started at messiness too back in 2020 i only drew chibis, but still the sketchy lines and unfamiliar brushes make the drawing quote on quote bad, but the secret ingredient is just practice and familiarize with tools on the drawing app, prolly you got used to traditional and want to try digital, but hey, its fun to learn new things

this is my 1st drawing on ibispaint which isnt too bad, but it took me 2 hours on this one, but the latest i drew rn is only 11 mins ish, i really like how'd i improve from this to that.
