One thing I always tell artists is like never announce that you hate your own work

I get the feeling like we all experience that and the need to explain that to people but if you present it with care people will treat it and view it with care

Like whenever we do a critique at uni there's always one person who will show something totally fine and be like "man mine sucks this is so embarrassing" but I also think part of being an artist is being a salesperson and also just being fair to yourself
