start off simple, dont expect things to look pretty from the start - especially if you have a lot of traditional drawing experience, its quite different so dont let the early drawings discourage you

autodesk sketchbook is a really simple, free program that can help you get used to how it feels to draw digitally but it doesnt have nearly as many features as a lot of the other art programs

and if it has a pop up saying to either take one or chose a file

pick the one you want

and then either take the pic or choose the image you want

then it will be added to the canvas

so you can adjust it aswell

it usually appears on its own layer tho so I dont think I would worry to much about adding a new one (for me at least)
