if it is, the twig has oils and debris that can damage and contaminate the ink.

do the circle I told you about. and keep practicing. It took me years to understand that, so no rush my guy

Your doing great, also the color pencils do make a difference, anyone who says it don't is kinda lying. Some papers do make it easier to blend colors however, in order for you to use that properly you'll need to at least know how to blend first properly.

Learn the techniques first

I wish I can go to vc and teach you a bit but I'm currently really busy with school and work

but if I'm free I'll lyk and ping you

the coloring process in traditional is why it's hard, people can't be patient and that's where they mess up

be gentle and color very very slow

if you're drawing someone's head, coloring that's should take you at least 2 hrs

Yeah I was thinking I must have my old poster color bottles somewhere, might see if I can clean them out for the ink.
The twig will be from a tree. I don't have it right now, was thinking of plucking a stick, ripping off its outer layer, sun drying it and then sharpening it in sort of a dip stick, something like that.
Coz the texture of sticks dipped in ink and drawn on paper is AMAZING, I accidentally did it a few days ago lol

so the problem is with the paper. preferably use office paper for practice or stuff

it also doesnt have to be some expensive ass paper, aslong as its thicker than usual paper its good enough

a good way to improve coloring btw is coloring books. for some reason some my little pony coloring book i found in my attic has helped me alot with coloring

It's easier than you think if you break the shadows down into shapes, which is all this shading is. In fact, it's best not to call it shading, since shading traditionally involves smoothing and softening of shadows. These shadows are just hard shapes really. Any of the blue areas I filled in are the shadows. simply try to copy those shapes into your drawing and fill them in with pencil, ink, or whatever medium you're using, but don't make the edges of the shadows soft, because in the anime they are not soft (it just might look soft because the image quality is low).
