I'm not too qualified to talk about this tbh. although if it's a piece with dramatic lighting I'll color the flats like normal and then find darker shades for them. then I just play around with values for the lighting until it feels right.

I would say the cup that’s getting tea poured into it is just slightlyyyy too big. Like I’m looking at the space between the left edge and the cup in shadow back there and I see in your drawing the space is smaller. Aside form that this is really solid already

This is a really good tip!! I have just noticed recently that my values feel like a wash, like there are dark areas ofc if i convert to black and white but i feel like they could be so much stronger

Ah yeah I run up across that myself. Usually when I focus more on getting the shapes I want I end up reusing a lot of the same colors
After I check b/w I try to keep in mind the way light and shadow appears in reality and think of ways to implement it. So like if you wanted the shirt or hook to stand out more, maybe you could put a darker value in the coat behind them as ambient occlusion. Or if you want to put more focus on the face, you could put specular highlights on the forehead or eyes for more sharp contrast

well, applying a layer set in color mode filled with black will give you the grayscale version here (dbz spoilers)

if you want to keep the same amount of contrast, the darks have to be even darker

God of War's most epic moments feel pale by comparison. And the story can be great at times, though it also falters quite a bit in the second half. But it's bogged down by the tedium of everything in between the main quests. It definitely feels like the mmo FFXIV team made this since it's so fetchquesty during the main story. Like, you'll get to the big story moments and then be forced back into boring mundane fetchquesty parts to get to the next story bit. Combat is good however and the Eikon fights are spectacular though a bit too cinematic and QTE at times.||

I can draw vehicles. But sometimes, some things are just simply annoying to draw, and 3D can help speed up the process. You also have to understand that in my industry 3D is very normal to use.

or 3D is good to reference. For example, in my competition piece I found an official 3D model of Senor Pink ripped from one of the OP games. I used it not trace over or anything but to see how his face looks from a lower angle which was hard to find with the manga and anime in the angle I wanted.
