@winged yew i'm practicing faces and expressions. But i want to move on with perspective, hands and hair, altough at the same time, i force myself to stay with faces to "absorb"the knowledge.

I'm getting a bit overhwelmed, but i think if i move to practice something else, i might forget what i learned about faces and heads.

When I was in school we practiced a wide range of topics, sometimes at once, so it's perfectly normal to want to explore other avenues of art

I would be doing an oil painting of a figure, learning perspective, and studying graphic design in one day.

Also, yes, if you stay away from certain art subjects for a long while it will take a bit of time to get back into the rhythm, but you won't forget everything.

I'm naturally better at drawing and painting some things because of this.

But worse at other things.

Honestly? Have fun. Study whatever current art topic makes you happiest.

You can force yourself if you'd like, but that's only helpful if you are serious about making this a career that pays the bills.

In which case you need to work very hard at many different subjects.

For college I sold my entire video game collection so I would not be distracted by it. I rarely made contact back home (I was in a different state for college) because I was so busy drawing and paintning and spending time with my art college friends. And I embraced art in all its forms. I learned all I could, went to the art museum all the time to study the old masters from real life paintings and drawings. Became friends with my college professors and took personal 1 on 1 classes with them and networked and became close friends with many friends at college. We all help each other to this day. But more importantly, I found out what I loved to do (Concept Art) and focused on that, especially in my final year. A year after college I got my first job and the rest is history. And here's the thing, I still didn't do enough in my eyes. I didn't work as hard as I should've, I procrastinated when I shouldn't have (which is why it took me an extra year post college to find my first job). There was some slacking on my end. All professional artists I know worked their asses off and didn't get distracted by Discord or anything like that, or anime, etc. Their life is art until they get their foot in the door professionally. It's hard, I won't lie, but if you're determined, you can do it. You have to really want this and be willing to sacrifice your social life for a while to really get to that professional level. Maybe you're not in an art college. That's perfectly fine. Meet artists online who like to do what you like and Zoom and socialize with them and learn from each other. Take YouTube courses or other online art courses that are affordable and good. Most importantly, find what kind of art you want to make a living doing and focus on creating that kind of art.

And here's the best part. Once you're in the pro world you get your social life back.

You still need to socialize and talk to people (obviously I was surrounded day and night by people in college), but don't let it overtake your life and become a distraction, especially with social media which is REALLY easy to do.

It depends on what medium you prefer, but i understand the confusion:

• Oda often times colors her eyes black but when she is blushing/angry/shocked there is a slight brown/gold color there
• Toei Animation uses blue for her eyes (I usually prefer that for her) since it also looks good on her
