but you lock both of them in an arena to fight to the death, kaido's making it out of there

I mean, even though I knew Kaido was already exhausted from the long battle in Wano, Gear 5 seemed much more effective back then. And then, from what I’ve seen in egghead, gear 5 barely does any damage to Kizaru. I dont know if its because Luffy’s fighting style is more of a war of attrition or what, but it seemed like it wasnt doing anything against Kizaru, at least compared to Kaido
