I just heard about the release date and episodes of the one piece remake and.. from the looks of it it seemed to me like the pacing will be a bit too fast? maybe not, but I don't remember any pacing issues in the start of one piece. and I even enjoyed most of it WITH the pacing being.. stretchy. it gave more suspense at times. and sometimes it even added to my enjoyment. in other cases I can see the problems. but a faster paced remake from episode 1 is not something I think would be necessary. then again, the animation is gonna look good though most likely.
