Folia really only makes sense for large servers. You usually won’t notice any meaningful performance gains unless you’re handling around 200–300+ players and running on at least a large thread CPU. If you’re on a smaller setup, USpigot (paid) is a solid choice. If that’s not an option, Purpur or Leaf will work perfectly fine.

but they are also completely volunteer run

and have spent like a decade building an extremely loyal community and they are still "only" at around 100 concurrent players (though this consistent and is steadily rising (as it has been for years))

so unless you are a talented dev who can also find volunteers and you are happy making absolutely 0 profit (Monumenta spends all of its revenue on server upkeep, and they don't have much left over) and spend years doing that, you're going to struggle having no in-game purchases

Yeah thats chill, im not particularly worried about making a profit at all. Just figured if I can make any amount of money, even cents, without it being an impact to anybody, that's how i'd prefer to do it. It feels pretty bad to balance your server around a store, you can't make the things in the store worthless or people wont buy them and you cant make them overpowered because it makes free to play players fall behind way too easy and not want to play the game.

If I ever did add a store, the most i'd ever want to include in it would be purely cosmetics. Almost every server thats existed had paid items that gave pay to play players significant boosts and i'd like to be known for making a server that felt like you were playing it at the same pace as everybody else without having to spend a cent

Yeah me too. Used to play a prison server that had "global boosters" for sell rates. Whenever someone would activate one, sell rates would be multiplied for everyone (that is online) during that boosted time.

About Bezier: I prioritized cinematic control and guaranteed targeting over physical accuracy for the main body. We need it to hit exactly X,Y,Z in exactly T seconds, which is trivial with Bezier but requires solving ballistic trajectories with physics.

If I have any questions or confusions about a specific library or framework, first thing I do is go to docs xd

With that knowledge I then either fix it myself or if it's a small fix and boring, I ask llms and provide the knowledge I found from the docs.

Imo this is how you should do it. Understand it first, then potentially ask an llm
