look its as simple as this, if you loads of application open that also use ram or GPU that will suck your FPS, background applications will too. You also need to change in game settings, start from lowest settings and build up until you get a sweet spot

For one, you are using non-vanilla version. Either way, newer versions are quite poorly optimised, which why I often use various performance mods, it's not that hard to install.
Secondly, you didn't give us the full CPU model.
Third, are running it on a laptop GPU which is known to be weaker than Desktop counterpats. Make sure it is plugged in and you're not power-throttled.
And lastly, you might be CPU bound.

There are loads of P2W servers plus it really depends on the Gamemode you're making. For example, if you're doing something like Prisons - it's a given that it'll be P2W.

Focus on QOL advantages that don't cause leaps and bounds of benefit compared to f2p. Works for my server and we are staying out of the red. For example nickname access and /craft. Let donator feel special but don't let the rank impact the core gameplay loop too heavily. Make sure you're f2p gameplay is solid too so they stick around long enough to consider donating.

1. don't be predictable, combine various combos in a fight and try to find what the enemy sucks at (strafing, s tap, crit chains, etc)
2. Practice REGULARLY, i may only be ht4 now, 2 years ago i was lt3 because i used to pvp constantly on a potpvp war server, that's why it's important to constantly do it, applies to everything in life really.
3. Watch many pvp videos and duel a lot of people, FFA, duels, stuff like that.
4. Don't crouch, supposedly it just makes you worse.
5. Set up your sensitivity and get a mouse pad, use your own sensitivity settings, don't bother with other peoples settings for the most part.
6. Remember that pvp is a skill in a video game which is temporary, in the end there is no purpose in it other than your own enjoyment and entertainment, don't bother with it if it's not fun for you.

What I've tried is no flags, aikar's flags and also some flags that used ZGC that I got from a reddit thread (might have been this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/15jsi04/performant_zgc_usage_in_minecraft/).

I have done no benchmarking and I saw no freezez with ZGC but I saw lower performance than when I used aikar's flags. Might've been something else entirely but that was my experience
