Hey just popping in as a manager of an ok sized server.

I don’t even look for experience in the typical way, I look more for how you can prove yourself to know you can get the position you want. So it’s not the same way everyone looks for experience across the board. Just find a way to stand out from the crowd of people and you should be fine. Even make a personal little server even without going public just so you have proof you kind of know what you’re doing.

so me and my friends were playing a BMC4 server that we created, the second we entered the end we couldnt place blocks anywhere so the world is basically done,
we have started on essential but then it was too laggy so we switched to a real spigot forge server, since the start of it ive been getting the following message spammed when i open the run.bat to start the server :

So, to start, if you're worried about the price, you're probably not making enough to warrent a large attack that your main providers protection wouldn't sustain

TCPShield, iirc, and I stand to be corrected, are on the OVH network, so, it's also as good as you using OVH's own if you're there. The only real benefit is a masked IP

There is an exploit that I don't know how to prevent. Basically a player joined my server and after a couple of second, the server started to lag, TPS dropped to 0-1, players got kicked repeatly.
Is there a way to prevent this?

you set up a network and move the players in set intervals, say 5 seconds, from limbo to the main

the limbo server can handle way more player joins/quits and what not, though now that I think anout it, I am not sure if that would help your case

maybe one option is to use bungee and have players first be sent to a lobby server

that way the lobby takes the brunt of initial connections

but it's better to figure out the root cause, maybe you can have timings or some other diagnostic tool be running while this attack takes place

so you can figure out exactly what the players are doing to cause so much lag

localhosted on your own pc or do you have a server you want to run it on?

I'd personally rather use Velocity over Bungeecord as its a faster, more modern proxy with more secure player information forwarding.
But it doesn't have as big of a plugin base as bungee so ig that is one reason to stay on bungee instead if you really need those bungee specific plugins

Guys someone can createfor me a java plugin for my BungeeCord proxy that does this:
by leaving the CMD of the proxy turned on, the user just clicks on my server from the list of Minecraft multiplayer servers (therefore telling the proxy that he is connecting) to start a.bat file (which I have already configured which allows the opening of the server ), if the server is already active it lets him in otherwise it moves him to a waiting room waiting for the server to start
the plugin must be inserted in the "plugin" folder of the proxy. it can be done?
