I would like to know from a player perspective what is best. I have a system that builds buildings, and I want to figure out what the best system is for when it is being built. I am not worried about code complexity, I am just not sure what will look best to the player. I know that I want it to take a specific amount of time for it to build. Would it be best if I just encased it in scaffolding so that the player cant see, or should I do dynamic scaffolding, where I have a preset for each build interval dynamically change the build and where the scaffolding is as it progresses? What would look the best from the player point of view?

what I described, functioned as a normal gui, but supported custom textures, fake inventories (aka you could use your inv too, it would "clear" it, and you could modify other plugin's guis with it.

like you can modify anything in it

like if you have a g ui of x plugin, and it contains an item in slot 5 that executes something, you could place anothed item in slots 10, 11, 12 and 13 that simulate that slot and you could even hide it. You could also set an items texture model, etc

this is used for plugins that dont support customizable guis or textured items in their guis

or if you want multiple slots to execute the same thing.
