i'd recommend hunting on ebay for a decent deal on an optiplex that comes with a 4th gen or better cpu (ideally something above an i3) and 16gb of ram, and buying a new ssd for it @reef path

Yeah it is. To do this you replace the generic_54 texture with just the inventory texture. Then you recreate textures for chests, shulkers, furnaces etc. This then allows you to have custom menus completely detached from the inventory. Opens up so many possibilities believe it or not as you no longer need to reskin the existing texture as it has been removed entirely - no longer forced to cover the old menu texture
