though it's pretty customizable, you can define initial velocity with a bias and spread, magnitude, as well as an acceleration that's applied every tick, drag, and bounciness. all of which support JavaScript and access to variables

for example if you just change the acceleration to be random and upwards instead of downwards and have a high drag, you can get flame particles!

then I just have the rotation component compare previous and future position

but components can interact with each other so I'm gonna see if I can make it a little less glitchy at spawning and when they are on the floor
