So, Superconducting on Radars...

It is a dead mod. On active radars, it takes 10% from the elec usage. Grand Tower uses more elec than 99% of the radars in game and it would save a whopping 14 elec. That's less than Hot Pockets on a T10 uncommon scoop. (And doesn't add any cargo)

It does nothing on passive radars. Even if it did this radar uses the second highest elec in the game, 390/s for 1.5s a total of 585 elec. Would be reduced to 562. 85 elec TOTAL, not per second, only when used. So 99% of the time it would be doing nothing until you decided to ping.

Why is this mod available on radars at all?

What is the point of this mod existing on radars at all?

Good point. It should probably have some other effect.

If you want to re-work it instead of 86ing it, then you should consider Shield Chargers as well.

#

But if you're open to opinions, Radars have way too many mods and Superconducting feels like bloatware. Even if it was improved, I don't think anyone would go out of their way for it.

also get rid of the elect cost on chargers

#

180 elect used when charger is active, while panels are giving you anywhere from +4k (sds) to +30k (capships), before the upcoming buff. the only way to activate a charger is (after OOC) to be next to a sun wherein your panel also activates.

#

It'd be fun if:

Superconducting as a regular mod = no elect cost. Also applies to shields and cloaks.
Superconducting as a NF mod = Elect cost is nullified and the number applies as an elect bonus in some way.
SC on chargers removed.

I'll take superconducting mod for a cloak if the devs uncorked the elect cost bottle and gave some cloaks 1000 elect usage
