Just checking about this, it would save a lot of time when basing/checking chars if it existed. But if its too complicated/not a frequent enough of usage/not a good idea don't worry, it's just a few seconds.

this is great, here's an addendum:
when you press "switch character" a window opens up with your characters and you select which one to switch to
or, even better, have the chars already there, no need to press twice, just once.
or, why not make a menu like the inventory menu specifically for switching characters? think of stuff like Genshin Impact, even

also slightly tangent. When station building - don't forget you can transfer to alts on the same account if they're offline in the same gal to streamline your process

Thats super useful and an awesome addition! Another usecase is on your possessions tabs you can see any station kit that is starving. And on any mfm char docked at a tow station you can see any tradebot that is stasised.
I visit every character for these health checks.

This didn't take much time to work up. In a perfect world yeah but that's alot more work for a bit less RoI
There's definitely value there but its still a net better experience as above.

oki, is there any downside to running the beta client 24/7? i notice some textures look different like celestial ships like analemma cosmetically.
they look much more yellow in it

Basically DDS textures are not recreated if the name already existed.
So that was original version and we updated the texture.
You justh have to delete your texture file and it'll self correct and rebuild under the new correct texture.

Changing a setting and pressing Apply or OK logs me out and brings me to the character selection screen.
Not sure if this is a bug
If anyone can test what a live non-beta client does.

There's an unrelated very rare edge case bug unrelated where if you have 5 characters, buy a 6th slot (and make the character) and log onto the 6th and do a /f, it doesn't log back into the 6th character. Just re-logging fixes this.
The cached characters probally are only the first 5.

That's the only hiccup I experienced, and it only happens the first time you buy a 6th character, so very rare.
Not sure if it happens by just creating a new character and doing a /f, or if its only for the 6th character edge case. But for what its worth I don't think it's a big issue.

I already talked with Jey about this. It is because the character creation is not the same as character log in. It will only happen when you create a character but have never logged out before. Every time after that it works without issue.

Feedback: Love the swith button. My primary use for logout is to switch characters. If I want to access another account, I just fire up another client.
I do find myself wanting to click the logout button still and pausing to make sure I hit the correct one. I almost feel like logout and switch should be swapped now.
I don't know how strongly others feel about it, or at all.

Now, when I use the switch button, and get a dc/rc cycle, I either get logged out completely, or go back to the previous character

Thanks for explaining! I think that would be the expected scenario for those situations due to losing connection. It has to basically revalidate. I'm not sure if I could make it remember if you were switching as that packet might have been lost.
