#Transwarp to a gal, from within said gal

Can we allow the ability to transwarp to a beacon when you are within the same galaxy as the beacon? Currently the option is greyed out if you are inside that galaxy.

I can't even count the amount of times I have went AFK for a bit to come back and find myself 50k+ out in the prod galaxy in a slower ship. It would be a nice QoL thing so that I don't have to TW to some EF layer or Hub galaxy to then just fly back to the same production galaxy we are using.

It should probably have an extra confirmation popup if you do it so you don't waste a TW misclicking on it

#

Would be neat as an afk drift reset

We have a new friction ability

#

That we re exploring implementing potentially that would potentially prevent extreme ranges of drift.

I mean... Could we just flip this switch while you explore other viable options to prevent drift?

I'm not really inspired by that resolution. The friction is already coded and implemented in Nexus

Tbh, I am not really inspired by your resolution either

It also doesn't work last I recall

#

We had to disable it because you were already in the gal and it did nothing

#

So not a "switch"

# stark viper This is main reason.

We don't have a current pop-up in place for transwarps as it is. If I click the wrong galaxy to transwarp to, I have burnt my transwarp.

That situation noted would be no different than just clicking the wrong galaxy, and I don't think it requires a unique solve to address if we do not think the current system requires a confirmation popup

See above.

#

Now anything is possible.

#

But it's not quite a two second change type of thing.

Perhaps you should explain more about how the friction ability works then. Because as it stands now, galaxies already have some massive spreads between planets.

So the same problem could exist in that system, that exists now

Ill make note of your idea - could be easy intra gal trvael but I think the better and universal approach is probably drift protection to prevent hundreds of thousands of distance away. Especially lower levels

We can't use it for intragalaxy travel because we don't have the beacon ID when we do the transwarp, the client doesn't get it from the server and so can't send it back.

#

But fixing that has been on my list for ages, because it also means multiple beacons in the same galaxy don't work properly.

Especially in a slow building ship or a sphere

What if, instead of the beacon issue, could you add a secondary function to transwarps?

A "warp to center" function, where when you click on a galaxy you are already in, from your transwarp menu, it simply warps you to 0.0? (Or instead of it being the galaxy you are in, its just a function named "warp to center"
