I asked a friend that works in logistics, mostly trans oceanic shipments but he works on road shipments as well. He told me that most likely Bethesda told DPI/UPS that “Hey, this game releases on date X, so be careful when you are shipping this” and they have their rough estimations for the right time to ship, but idk, still frustrating

sorry for the wall of text. this friend gave me more details after talking with one of his co-workers that has a very long experience in road shipment logistics. basically, our CE has 2 main routes to follow until it gets in our hands. The length of the routes varies by the distance where the package needs to be delivered.

First route is from DPI warehouse to the Fulfillment Center. This is an internal order, with its own tracking number, where big pallets full of Collector's Editions are transported to the fulfillment center. Most of the time, the fulfillment center is in the country of the receiver (us, the buyers), depending on the carrier. For road transportation specially, which might be the case for most of us, the fulfillment center is in the proximity of the final destination.

At the Fulfillment Center, these big pallets are unloaded and separated accordingly to the final destination.

The second route is from the Fulfillment Center to the final destination (our door). This is a completely separate transport, and this is the time where our tracking number and shipping label is printed, so we can track our packages.
I hope this brings some relief to you guys. Our shipments will be here soon so we can stand and fight against hell.

!!When the package is in transit, DPI Support CANNOT give us specific details, because in the system the package is not at a specific location. They will know what’s up only after the package gets at the Fulfillment Center and its prepared for the final delivery.!!

It is special because the box in this larger format (the size all PC games used to come in) was exclusive to Sam's Club stores in the United States. When i sent my steam deck for repair, valve have me an ups express saver label to put on my package

I left it at the local ups office around 10 am, at 5 pm it was scanned on the airport, and at 10 pm it was already in nurnberg after being scanned on another 2 airports prior to that

That is insane if they will deliver by plane on my part as well
