Why would the burden shift to the shipper? Surely they can prevent e-mails from going out until the items are actually picked up. The main gripe I have with it is that some shippers will abuse this to prevent last minute cancellations. Don't tell me it has shipped when it hasn't shipped!

it shifts to the shipper as they scan it into their system as received into their hands. the company would have to have some sort of API integration with the shipper to email the receiver of the product, and then maintain it. and well, they are not going to do that.
This is only my opinon coming from working in both IT side of shipping/recieveing, and being on the side that is shipping and recieving. I totally understand and in some ways agree that it is broken and annoying. However, I myself, have to sometimes take a step back and remind myself the world does not roll on Amazon Prime delivery time. unfortunatly.

currently limited run disappoints me, for 100$, you have doom + doom 2 in box, the 4 cassettes and a pack of 5 cards, ok, now let's go back to 2024, doom anthology, a steelbook and the replica of the bfg9000, doom + doom 2, doom 3 with dlc, doom 64, doom 2016, doom eternal with dlc and for only 80$. I remind you of something, doom + doom 2 on Steam was doom at 5€ which changed, and the collector which does not contain a box makes the Big box edition on pc, it is literally the worst price for that, so limited run (physical for ever) = (physical for never) and seriously they could have made a steelbook

I just asked DPI Merch when the Collectors Edition will be dispatched to my country (Romania), and the customer support lady said may 7th. Hope this is wrong because I wont get it in time for early access if so…Generally it takes about a week and a half for anything to get from other parts of EU to Romania 😭

Maybe i just had bad luck with EU orders until now tho. When i asked for another charger for my steam deck at steam support, they dispatched it through GLS and it reached me 2 weeks after receiving the tracking number. But I also RMA’d that steam deck for another issue, and it came back from Germany through UPS, and it took 5 days to reach me since they gave me a tracking number. So I might still receive it by 12th of may and I am just panicking like a fool
