My current underclock. RX580, Sapphire Nitro+, card is heavily used, couple of years old and still works fine. Default clocks are 1411 @ 1150mV.
At 1344MHz I lose about 1-2 FPS compared to default but have half the power draw and stable thermals maxing at around 70ºC when stress testing, otherwise ~60-65ºC when gaming.
I kept memory at default, not much performance to be gained there and Adrenalin has issues with custom memory clocks (Do not touch memory clocks, reset your profile if you enabled it at any point.)
I also adjusted the default fan curve, since it was crappy.
Don't bother with OC, unless you desperately need a couple of frames, it's just extra heat and instability tbh. Find a nice stable UC.

Also, have a normal voltage curve, why do you lower clocks have higher voltages than your higher clocks?

Sapphire is better than msi armor model , default clock is 1366 which is less than your .I uc it to 1280 and uv it to 980 , increased fan speed a bit at 60~70 temp and didn’t change memory clock

The temperature however still reaching nearly 70 and over 75 in certain game

Doom eternal easily at 70 temp in game tho , but i’m happy cuz it is stable

Yeah. If you are using a laptop follow this. I've had that issue before where eternal would try to use integrated and not GPU. If it's nvidia, you can force it in the control panel.

Just had this issue on doom eternal and Idstudio it could be a ram issue or try deleting some files off your drive that has Windows on it as it might be to full then restart windows try again and for me it started working

Ok, im back with this, after some updates, i still got this conection issue, and it seems i have it for Quake 2 as well, not Quake 1 tho, quake 1 multiplayer is fine, wich is odd, it could be a region problem or idk.

I bought a 1tb SATA SSD to go in my laptop and started transferring my games over to it from the c drive. It disconnected from the PC and I lost my games, but I opened the laptop back up and reconnected it. After like 20 minutes, it disconnected again. I used an SSD USB dock and plugged the drive in like that and it disconnected a few more times, but then I used the second slot to connect an old HDD. When the SSD disconnected that time, it also disconnected the HDD too. So I plugged the dock into my desktop, installed the HDD into my laptop and left while my desktop was transferring about 800+gb to that SSD. It's hours later and the HDD in my laptop is still working and the SSD at home is still working. I'm confused and gunna cry and didn't know what to do or even how to understand this problem.

So, the drive dock confirmed that there should be a problem with the drive, but the drive works just fine on my desktop with the dock. None of this makes sense.

It's powered by a wall plug, but the SSD disconnects while internally connected to the laptop as well, but the HDD doesn't.

It’s funny you mention this because as stupid as it sounds I’ve found that quite a lot of laptop HDDs are actually draw less power on average than the ssds we have these days

I can't run Doom Eternal without having stupid fps decrease, wich brings me from 120 to 30 fps, and that every 5-8 seconds

it's not really a build because customizing the gpu means swapping the motherboard since laptop gpus are soldered

I have a question about DOOM 1 + DOOM II. I was trying to add wads to the mod list in the game. So I would make a new folder and name it AVGNinDOOM. The wad would also be called AVGNinDOOM. Then I would copy an index.json file and paste it in the folder.

An index.json file that came with a download from the community page looks like this.

Honestly, I'd aim for something slightly better.
The CPU isn't very good, it's gonna be pretty weak for a lot of things, so if you intend on pushing it into higher end games it's performance is going to disappoint.
The RX 580 isn't a bad graphics card, but it's several generations old, and in comparison to a lot of newer cards, significantly slower; it's absolutely showing its age now.
I'm not a fan that it isn't showing specifically what motherboard it is, but given that the networking is through a USB Wi-fi adapter, I don't have high hopes and it seems like an extreme budget board.
The RAM is fine, 16GB is pretty standard for a lot of systems, and its speed is pretty standard as well.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. There's a lot of very old components in the build, and for $1,063.85, I don't think it's worth the price either.

A personal recommendation would be a system from Aftershock, specifically the Bolt - it's currently $999 base, comes with a Ryzen 5 5600 which is significantly stronger, a much better motherboard, slightly faster RAM, and a significantly better GPU, a 1TB NVME M.2 drive, you can get them to install a second for extra cost, however that can wait and can be done yourself later down the line for, honestly, quite a bit cheaper. The only problem I do see is it not coming with an operating system pre-installed, but if you know how to set up a bootable USB, you can download the windows .iso from Microsoft themselves, and there's a specific tool on GitHub for activation, which I would do that route because it saves you dropping $180 on an OS.

With the changed PSU, it comes up to $1039, and I would absolutely say that is much more worth it than the one you pictured, purely because of the much stronger CPU and GPU in the Bolt.
Otherwise, I would say hold off for an extra, like $500, and you can pick up a stronger system again that comes stock with a 40-series Nvidia GPU, which can push essentially everything you could want to play.

Alright, found a fix incase anyone else runs into this issue:

Goto wherever doom eternal is installed, in the directory you will find doom-launcher-settings.json file

Make sure the paths for "activemods_base", "idstudio_base","idassets_base" are valid

In my case, the drive letters were messed up

So technically I think we can have support for external drives when it comes to idstudio, have to manually change the drive letters in the json for now

If any mods/idtech guys can check it out I'd be grateful

The GPU will run all monitors that have HDMI and Display port outputs. Demanding games at 1440p might run a bit slow but you can always change the resolution or use lower settings

a source port is a mod to the games internal source, not the iwads or whatever, but Id engines use game data so their games arent fully reliant on the engine, this means you can run their games on any compatible engine, this is what a source port does

its essentialy an engine that runs on modern systems, but also supports doom

Alright! Woof is also demo accurate to vanilla (meaning if you record a demo in Chocolate and play it back in Woof it'll be the same), but by default has some modern stuff enabled

Woof also has a concept called complevels, which is just a way of emulating a specific engine

that's why it can be accurate to vanilla as Chocolate is, but can also play mapsets made for Boom and MBF
