Functions like a normal Tyrant except:
- It has much greater resistances against all of your weapons.
- It takes slightly more damage from the "gut" area. A little bit more from Full Auto.
- It is significantly harder to falter, & cannot be hard-faltered by the Slayer's arse...
Randomizes the demon spawns plus a few extra features.

It's generally best practice to separate modded campaign saves from vanilla saves.

most mods should be fine, ones that heavily change the structure of the campaign (eg. proteh's Horde Modes) should be used in different slots

They are not really that special, I just wanted a flying "fodder-like" demon. They have funny melee lunges which are called "hungry_hippo" in the attackgraph, almost looks like they are throwing a fit. I've been taking more care in replacing skins that are usually available in base game or as rewards in Horde. Exceptions are only going to be skullface since I want to do a Mask collection for that skin.

It’s real. This is the first time it’s been done, so I just used a very simple model as proof of concept. I will be working on a tool to make this accessible to modders now. Going to take a bit of time to finish it, but I’m excited for the possibilities. 😁

You have to remove all the mods from your “mods” folder, then run the modinjector again to actually remove them from your game files.
You could also validate/repair your install to restore the original game files and that will work too.

Yes, but there's basically 0% progress done with that for animated/rigged models.
(A lot of the same "concepts" of the static model format may apply to the rigged model format, so @ SamPT might get a "head start" of sorts when he starts, but he'll have to figure out where those concepts are in the different model format, as well as figure out the new concepts (skeleton/armature/bones, linking/weighting vertices to them, maybe shape keys/vertex animations if applicable, and more).)

We can't import custom models yet. (@ SamPT is getting close to importing static models, but not yet rigged/animated models nor the "collision model" format so that you can collide with something.)
If we could, there'd also be the problem of internal map stuff ("brushes", area visibility, lightmap baking) that can't really be done without something like idStudio, plus Havok's AI navigation stuff (and enemies will just disappear after a few seconds without that).
For something running on the Unreal or Unity engines, you can sort of hack your way into it with public tools and years of modding knowledge, but for "private", yet still "advanced", engines (like idTech 6/7), you'll basically need an official map editor to get anywhere.
and let me guess, they wont release such editors to the public
They might "want" to, but there's likely a lot of proprietary software built into idStudio that legally prevents them from doing so, plus it's so "connected" to id Software's home network that it'd be a lot of effort to make a stand-alone/offline version. So, yes, they probably won't. 😿
If you own RAGE, then you also get RAGE Toolkit for free, which has a map editor (and some other stuff?) for RAGE... but that's on idTech 5(?), so it's not really usable for Doom 2016/Eternal (which run on idTech 6 and 7, respectively).
its a shame cus what kept the original doom popular even to this day is how darn moddable it is
hell you could probably add brand new weapons to it nowdays
the original idTech (and most other legacy engines, for that matter) is exponentially more simpler than its modern counterparts
there's a lot more shit happening behind the screen when you're playing D16/DE than its precursors, which in turn makes modding them more difficult
well obviously, doom came out in 93, id expect a lot more to be happening
It also helps that Doom 1, 2, and 3 are all open-source, letting hardcore modders build on the game/engine itself (e.g. GZDoom, or even especially Sonic Robo Blast 2). That might never happen for Doom 2016+. 😿

Open EternalModManager. That will tell you which mods are considered (potentially-)gameplay-altering, and its settings page should have an option to only load multiplayer-/Horde-safe mods too.
Note that some cosmetic mods are considered (potentially-)gameplay-altering due to affecting some assets that can affect gameplay, even if the mod only changes cosmetic things in it.

Have you tried using the SAMUEL tool? Need version 2.0 or newer. It’s in the modding Discord. It can export a few .lwo models that aren’t in Vega. I’m not sure if that specific guitar is supported though.

We don't know the GUI/HUD format. The best that we can do is replacing textures of the current HUD (and even that is only somewhat recently possible, I think?), but we can't change the layout/information itself shown.

They are really fast and cannot be faltered by normal means. Breaking the shields with the Plasma Rifle will cause them to enter a rather extensive falter animation, giving you time to breathe. I believe they have other weapon-specific weaknesses, they are supposed to be the "opposite" of Chaingunners.
Also, the Codex exists for a reason.
AI code/behaviour(?) (a separate format, not "declarations" which people are already editing), rigged model meshes, rigged model skeletons, rigged model animations, vertex paint, GUI/HUD behaviour/layout/animations, map geometry(? Maybe at least "inner" map things like brushes, unless that's part of (known-ish) static models and (unknown) collision models?), Havok AI navigation meshes/volumes, Havok shapes, map visibility regions, shaders, anything Umbra-related, and much more.
We can retexture models, though, even environmental ones. That being said, we can reskin levels, but it would be really tedious

It has a lot of potential and I want to experiment with it.

Under "Limitations and Restrictions", it says that decompiling is not allowed. But people do it all the time... right? For example, decompiling in order to extract the music files.

That's not(?) "decompiling" per se, only "extracting" or "exporting".
I think that only the game executable (and launcher/GPU driver warning executable) can be "decompiled".

I used the Gritty render because it appears with more clarity in the Codex. The emissives are still there.

Anyone here know what I’m doing wrong? I downloaded the keep the dead mod and I have the injector. All of my skins seem to work perfectly, although some of my shader mods and keep the dead don’t seem to work at all. Anyone know what I can do about it?
This is a combination of the Screecher Spirit enemy & Mutator buff. I made it drop an Overdrive powerup instead of health and ammo because... why not? The powerup will disappear after 30 seconds. I can theoretically do the same for spawning other demons instead of powerups or loot, which I plan to experiment with later.

and to answer this, you might need to change up the filepath and rename the textures so that they replace the default heavy canon. It should be gameresources/art/weapons/heavycanon
gameresources_patch1 doesn't have an art folder... there's one in warehouse, but it leads to warehouse/art/weapons/heavycannon/skins/plaid, in which there's a bunch of files. Do you know what I should do?

Hi! Eternal says that "an update is pending" and as such can't connect with rewards services (can't play battlemode for example)
I suppose this is due to mods, but I can't figure out which?
My mods are the following:
it shouldnt say any update is pending, but some mods will disable BATTLEMODE unless you toggle multiplayer-safe mode in the ModManager
(I looked on steam and there's no update pending)
will that automatically disable the mods messing with mp/rewards? I don't really care for battlemode but I would like to get achievements/get score on horde mode

It still says a pending application update is required, though Steam doesn't detect any such updates... the Particles 9000 mod suggested messing with the custom.cfg and candidate.cfg files in the base folder, might that be the cause?

There's no real technical conflicts -- you might "miss" some stuff by switching between vanilla and modded mid-campaign, though you can fix that by simply replaying the mission

All of the Mod Bots and Sentinel Crystals moved from the Hub to the main missions have identical IDs with each other, meaning if you've collected the version of the collectible that appears in a main mission, it will also appear collected in the Hub
The same can't be said for the sole Praetor Suit Token moved (from before Cultist Base in the Hub, to right at the start of the level), but that doesn't break anything and the Token would otherwise not be (re)obtainable

I think that EternalModInjector can only replace sounds in .snd archives, but a few sounds (including Chaingun and Heavy Cannon sounds) are in .pck archives (at least partially).
Some sound mods work around this by editing the projectiles to use other, .snd-exclusive sounds, and then replace those sounds, but projectile edits are considered multiplayer-unsafe (even if they only change the firing sound).
In other words, you can't really make that mod multiplayer-safe. 😿
