Well doom is the only game I play and I ve been playing classic since i was a kid. I love modern as well ( even 3). I consider myself a purist but not that pure. I was the same way (was a little too young to really figure them out and appreciate them fully), but played through 1 and 2 earlier this year and they still hold up as amazing games on their own. Plasma-based guns (Plasma rifle, Gauss Canon) burn away their shields faster. You can also use aoe weapons behind them, to falter them. Like grenades and stuff.

How I got the game to work on IHD 4600:
Insert HD 5450
Start game and set things up
Install super low mod
take out HD 5450 and start the game on integrated
Activate super low mod
have fun

Depends on your region and platform. You’ll most likely run into the same group of players, and it usually takes around 20 minutes to find a match. It’s good fun though. Can’t say the same for Battlemode in Eternal (which also isn’t very active) but that’s just my opinion.

When it comes to doom mp, I have found games in under 10 seconds, some took over 5 minutes to find, I've managed to level up about 400 times in the past week and a half. Its all about what time of day, usually 12 pm to 8 pm are the best times to find a match in the us. I'm speaking from an Xbox players perspective though, I would assume ps4/5 would be about the same, maybe pc, and I'm not sure about switch. I do run across alot of the same active players, but i see atleast 30-10 unfamiliar/new players a day.
And the active players are usually pretty damn good at the game
Snapmap players still exist, new maps get published and rated at all times of the day, but good luck finding a lobby with randos in snapmap

I love both games, but Eternal just really gets my blood pumping. It really does encourage using different weapons throughout the battle. 2016 was a great throwback to the original Doom (which I purchased when I was in college when it came out - still have the original 3.5" floppies somewhere - lol) but Doom Eternal really raises the bar. But I understand not everyone will like it but I definitely like it over Doom 2016. Doom 2016 seems "slow paced" to me after playing Eternal. lol

Because I will be up close with a fodder demon and shoot....and they are still standing...?? it doesn't happen all the time but oftentimes it does, especially if there is more than one fodder demon within the spread. I even noticed this at times when I'm fighting the marauder. does anyone else notice this?

There’s still quite a few issues in the game. Like some achievements not registering or softlocking bugs that require you to restart the mission. Nothing too bad though. Just wish they fixed them.

if you hit them from the front, they go down in 6 super shotgun blasts
the back takes them down in 2

remember to swap weapons since some are more effective in some situations
use weapon mods
and uh.... keep moving
don't fixate on one demon, shoot at anything that comes in front of you
unless a specific demon is giving you too much trouble
