Ultra-Violence? Given it’s your first Doom game, yeah I’d probably start on Hurt Me Plenty (Medium) instead. Up to you though. Unless you’re playing on Nightmare (which you can’t until you beat the game once first), you can change the difficulty any time you want. So just play at what’s most comfortable and fun.

I’d say Nightmare gives you the best Doom experience though.

the sounds in the game are really great, and the combat is cathartic; just feels so good

getting used to the mouse sensitivity as well. trying a higher sensitivity (6 which i know is probably low for many) paired with 800 dpi and it's going pretty well so far, just still needing to get used to how sensitive and light this mouse is

Adjust the difficulty to your liking. I’d just play at the difficulty that allows you to have the most fun. I personally play on Nightmare but I know that isn’t for everyone
