Generally speaking:
Secrets give you weapons 1 level earlier: Res Ops (Plasma Rifle), Foundry (Rocket Launcher), Argent Facility (Super Shotgun), Argent Tower (Gauss Rifle), Kadingir Sanctum (Chaingun).
Normal progression (all weapons on your route in obvious spots, which you won't miss): Foundry (Plasma Rifle), Argent Facility (Rocket Launcher), Argent Tower (Super Shotgun - maybe can be missed), Kadingir Sanctum (Gauss Rifle), Argent Facility Destroyed (Chaingun). And they are many other spots for weapons.
At the same time Mod Bots, Elite Guards etc. are in secret places sometimes.
Also disagree that it's essential. I played Nighmare with Pistol until 1st boss. It's possible just boring and takes a lot of time, because non-modded pistol is meh.

• Fodder deals a lot of damage in 2016 (Imps, Soldiers). Pinkies can 1 shot, indeed. If you have troubles with fodder, just kill these demons first. Outside of Helix Stone area I don't remember any spot that relies heavily on killing big enemies, unlike Eternal, where you need to kill big monsters first, because fodder is infinite.
• There are way more damage in general in 2016 and less healing (enemy in 2016 has one health vial per GK and in Eternal enemy drops 2), if I remember correctly. Also Eternal has damage mitingation on low health, while 2016 doesn't.
• Enemies in 2016 are also slower/less aggressive compared to Eternal. And there are 1,5 demons per encounter, unlike in Eternal where there are a lot of them.
• 2016 has a lot of overpowered tools. Eternal is more balanced, but has more movement.

I might just do it to prove a point but it isn't fun in my eyes

I made sure to get all the unlockable and weapon masteries as early as I could and that alongside the game spawning less fodder demons later on made things way more manageable

I think I just found a weird trick in Titan's Realm. Have not tried it multiple times to see if it is a fluke or not but it could be useful for speedrunners if this is unknown about. I was trying to use a hologram to lure a Lost Soul for the Trick Shot challenge and when it blew up on my hologram it completed the challenge. This was the first lost soul to attack me in the first slime room in the entrance of the first level. He didn't blow up on any other lost souls, just my hologram

I don't remember 100%, but some weapons may have issues with blowing these orbs. I use plasma/assault rifles for that. They also can be vulnerable while doing other attacks (spinning for 1st and one of the 2 bosses, for example). I think due to their weakness it's easiest boss, even while Cyberdemon health is meh.

Anyone able to offer solutions to DOOM 2016 having really bad stuttering at times. I have a good system with a 7900xt and Ryzen 7 9800x3d and I get over 100 frames but when I'm shooting things and turning my screen it's really choppy.

I'll execute things or stand in place and it's fine. I've literally never been able to run this game well without this issue. I couldn't run it at all on my 2080 Super before.

Just in case - they are extra vulnerable during some attacks (shooting orbs or spinning, for example) and you can apply extra damage to them. Take into account that shooting same orbs may not work with every weapon, so I recommend Assault or Plasma Rifles for that.

Does anyone know if I can adjust the brightness levels in DooM 2016, once I'm in the game? (Not Gamma) I was able to adjust both brightness, and gamma levels on first start up, but now I can only find an option for the gamma level in the settings.

The micro missiles mastery is way too easy to get, I literally got it like 30 seconds after I got all the upgrades

Playing through Doom 2016 to reflect and see how I feel nowadays.
Game's slower than I remember, not necessarily bad cuz I'm still enjoying everything. Maybe more so since I'm trying new stuff. Like the plasma stun bomb, generally using the combat shotgun more, and heavy assault rifle's crit mod.

Nightmare is easy. It's just bullshit damage numbers and pin point accuracy that imps for whatever reason have.
Stun bomb from plasma rifle is a great opener and aoe stun. Been using it with the triple burst combat shotgun mod.

From replaying Doom 2016, I've come to realize moving around is slow.
Even Doom 3 is faster at base sprint speed. Least speed boost rune helps.

Still having fun with the guns and their mods. Only complaint is the ammo scarcity but I'll prolly throw on my ammo rune if need be until I've maxed my ammo capacity.

2016 isn't terribly slow. And the maps don't take long to proceed through, so that works in it's favor.

Gotta be specific, keys are a detrimental part of Doom's design. Nearly every level in a doom game has them.

Don't remember exactly, but yellow is the first one go where there are 2 Mancubi and kill all demons. There would be skull switch in same spot as skull key, which will allow to get this key.

What items? Most items should save automatically in inventory (stuff, like weapons and mods/upgrades, suit upgrades).
Edited: so yeah, you can pick them up and exit to main menu.

There is mod tool for that, but I only know 1 mod that changes textures of Imps with this tool.
There is also Bloody Weapons mod, which adds blood to weapons.
