Veteran isn't the highest difficulty. But Nightmare did have those same extra spawns. Over the course of the base game over 100 enemies were removed, including a lot of cacodemons and revenants

The flashlight is inconvenient, but it's supposed to be and it's balanced around that inconvenience.

Doom 3’s horror, although it includes teamwork in the campaigns it feels isolated but I feel like watching the early Doom 4 videos it felt more crowded? Idk maybe it would’ve turned out different

Hell in Classic is less fire and brimstone. It feels more abstract than anything.

Which, in a lot of ways sort of fails at being overly intimidating. 3's hell is some good shit.

Doom has always had an interesting take on hell.
Doom 1 & 2 are abstract gothic landscapes with some fire and skulls plopped the deeper you go.
Doom 3 hell is dark and ancient looking, incredibly intimidating.
Doom 2016 combines the fire and goth into one beautiful package.
Eternal has the weakest of all the games by going with the cookie cutter "oops all lava!"

Up until you hit nekravol where it gets one of the coolest set pieces in the franchise
