Honestly doom 3 is a more accurate 3d adaptation of doon than most people give it credit for, the only reason it had that horror focus was because the engine wasnt capable of throwing dozens and dozens of demons at a time so they had shift the threat level posed by 10 demons in the classic games to one demon in doom 3

Play the og version if it's your first time. I'd only recommend bfg if you want a faster experience and decided to play nightmare after unlocking it( bfg nightmare mode is superior because if the ammo increase and lighting which allows you to push harder and play faster ) for the intended experience play of mode on veteran. Try to keep moving and avoid door fighting. Dont let the game scare you.

You can put the brightness down. The og is superior because it keeps the soul of doom 3. But I believe bfg nightmare mode is more fun because the lighting and ammo increase as well as flashlight allows for faster play which you need when you have 25 health and dont want to constantly save

Honestly can’t believe I got the game for $3- granted it was on sale. But even for a old game it holds up fairly well

I mean they made doom 3 into horror game and didn't really show any cool features about the marine like how doom guy would have cool features and honestly the story didn't make sense
