Hello, I'm new on this server. I really want to get every steam achievement for this game, but the last one I have left is bloodbath (kill 200 opponents in battlemode). I would greatly appreciate it if two people could hop on really quick and help me finish it in a private lobby.

Not to rag on battlemode, but I have grinded non-stop to get to 139 kills. At this point it is tedious. The matchmaking is pretty long and I really don't enjoy the stomp-or-get-stomped experience. Because the Father was a complacent coward and did not deserve resurrection. His complacency and inability to kill Davoth jumpstarted the events of the series. On top of that, the Maykrs were corrupt and evil, and the Father, while much better, could've brought them back.
The reason TAG is called The Ancient Gods is because the story is the Slayer rejecting the ancient gods of the past - the Father and Davoth. The Slayer fundamentally rejects the idea of gods, as they have wrought man nothing but terror. The Father might be "good," but what he represents needed to die.

I like that the demons aren’t otherworldly poltergeists or immortal, they’re quite frankly animals.

As per TAG's lore, Samuel Hayden is a pseudonym the Seraphim used upon arriving to Earth and transferring his consciousness into a human cloned body. Hayden lived for well over 50 years before contracting "cancer" shortly after being appointed to the Mars base.
Whether Hayden remembers his identity as the Seraphim during 2016 is unclear. Some, including me, feel that Hayden lost his memory and slowly regained it as his consciousness approached Maykr status (Human -> robot -> Fortress -> Maykr). Others feel Hayden always knew and was lying.
Regardless, no, Hayden was not working for the Khan during 2016; his goal was in direct conflict with hers. Hayden sought to provide Earth a new energy source with Argent - his version of Argent was merely refined Wraith energy. (no souls) The Khan didn't want to empower humanity.

Stay mobile in the air as often as you can (especially with Air Control). Stuff like Meathook Jumping off an enemy, then using your second jump, dash, and/or ballista to stall yourself in the air, allows you to get ANOTHER meathook jump to stay in the air for awhile. Most enemies are kinda neutered when you stay in the air.

Also always remember that as long as you have more than 5 armor, you have "one shot prevention" from attacks. This still results in you dying to stuff like Mancubus or Dread Knight AOE slams, since they hit rapidly, but from Hell Knight/Baron slams or attacks, you won't die in one shot as long as you have some amount of armor.

This is why the SSG Mastery is regarded as the best, because even just getting the 20 armor from Hook -> PB is enough to prevent death (plus it keeps you highly mobile)

It is rough at first. Playing as demon is very fun as long as you have a decent partner. Playing as slayer is tough at first. No air control is a big factor plus no shield and other major upgrades.

Tldr: generally quick swapping itself is enough of a DPS increase.

But otherwise it depends on the enemy. For instance SSG pb SSG is very good against most enemies, Mancubi and Arachnotrons in particular, but some enemies you may want to do lock on burst for, or PB ballista. It depends on the specific demon, and the arena usually. There's very rarely a catch-all solution

Lock on is one of the best mods in the game.

Rockets normally deal 600 splash 300 direct damage. Lock on rockets deal 875 direct 25 splash, so they deal the same damage but very quickly to 1 target. Lock on Burst either kills or almost kills a large majority of the heavy demons.

Remote Det deals 400" splash damage, with an additional 200 coming from the explosive array perk for a total of 600 splash. However, for some UNGODLY reason, remote detsdamage fall off is much more severe than normal rocket explosions, so it results in it often dealing close to 200 or less damage per rocket.

It's when you start trying to do the harder content, get better, etc you start to notice the difference

Remote Det has some niche uses where it can stun/falter enemies kind of reliably, but generally LOB is better.

Start on whatever you think might be good, and if it's a bit frustrating then lower the difficulty in game from there. No harm in figuring out the difficulty trial by fire style

Though I would probably recommend Hurt Me Plenty of Im Too Young to Die. I would say the very least suggest you stay away from Nightmare

It is very unforgiving to people who even generally know how Doom Eternal plays. If you're not experienced with Doom as a whole (let alone Eternal), it would most likely just be frustrating. Hard stuff isn't always bad, I think players should try to rise to a challenge, but Nightmare is a bit too much for newer players.
