I just joined, wanted to know what you guys think of the master levels from a balance and overall quality standpoint

I just beat Taras Nabad on Nightmare and it wasn't very fun...

These levels really could use mid-fight checkpoints for areas with multiple different waves, less cheap "throw everything at the player from all directions at the same time in a crammed area" BS and, oh yeah - BEING ABLE TO SAVE AND EXIT WITHOUT LOSING ALL YOUR PROGRESS

I really don't get how people say that TAG2 (which I actually think is harder than the main campaign) was too easy when this is way more unbalanced (albeit in the opposite direction)

I have had a few performance problems, but they've been only very minor freezes and haven't made my game unplayable by any means.
Mind you, my laptop is not meant for gaming, yet other than said freezes, I get a consistent 60fps.

I mean, you can always try a lower difficulty just to see how hilariously easy the game gets for you.

But playing on high difficulties is really engraved in DOOM's nature as a franchise. You're canonically kicking so much ass that a high difficulty is just more fitting than anything.
That's how I see it at least.

It's not like other shooters where they're so realistic that the one-man army aspect is the least realistic part.

Nah. I play some master levels mostly on UN (TN and WS). The others I play them on Nightmare because I hate dying if I'm doing something dumb or trying new controller setups. I never play main campaign in UN again. I'? retired from it.

Nope, ypu still keep crucible and ypu can add the BFG to the weapon wheel and and sacrifice plasma riffle or Combat shotgun if needed I guess

Yep, I think the Rs and Ls are the most important ones.

The rest ypu can put them in whatever position. I'd say maybe the only other valuable button is A if you can reach it with your top finger to avoid lifting a thumb

If swapping between base fire of 2 weapons (as in not using either weapon mod) you can hold down the fire button and just use the swap button. (SSG/Ballista for example)

I just replayed Cultist Base and have no desire to attempt playing it deathless. UNnecessary

Pick like any map with the infinite ammo cheat on and just practice things like ssg ballista first

You'll eventually get used to the motion on your keyboard and it will become 2nd nature
