So apparently, the Chaingun Energy Shield isn’t affected by the Infinite ammo cheat code… usually. What I said yesterday DID actually happen, but it might’ve been a rare occurrence, or a bug. Either way, the energy shield should be affected by said cheat code.

Also, Full Auto Shotgun, Unmaykr, Chaingun, Microwave Beam Plasma Rifle, and Lock-on Burst rocket launcher are so much fun with Infinite Ammo.

those are difficult to define, there's an observable "fast swap" state among a bunch of other weapon-specific non-default states you can create at will. the fast state itself and being able to conserve it has always been intentional (heavy cannon -> slow weapon is faster than slow weapon -> slow weapon), what id wanted to patch out was the pb firing cooldown being reset by weapon swaps

the common method of initiating slob works because lock-on rockets are just a modified version of regular rockets (pb-bal-fast arbalest or fast dblade doesn't work because ballista base fire is hitscan, and both mods fire projectiles so they're by default separate.) so to some extent the games sees them as the same, so when you do pb-rl-slob, the fast state is conserved and applied to the lock-on, and the game still thinks you're firing normal rockets.

therefore you get an infinite lock-on and a faster firing rate, since disengaging the lock and disabling fast state after a volley has landed is a property of the rockets, and not a property of the weapon mod. that is, the weapon mod applies the tracking property and the appropriate damage values but the rockets you fire during slob are never actually flagged as lock-on rockets. i'd imagine this is to at least some extent a holdover from DKSMS https://youtu.be/dtPt_URCw6M

Timing is a major aspect of strategy. Any noob can sink a BFG into a tyrant to halve the Time to Kill. But a veteran knows when to fire it so all the DreadKnights are spawning. I never hope to be at that level. But if I am stuck on a level long enough I feel like I’ve earned the right to wipe out the hardest part, for a fee of 1 BFG.

It does. Sentinel armor is just for bosses. Bosses become trivial once you learn their patterns. BFG makes some arenas (TN ML) accessible for everybody. If Sentinel armor was accesible at all times in game then I would agree 100%. The fact that most master levels are a joke with BFG tells you how powerful it is

yeah it's a chore to kill because no ice bomb etc + damage resistance but otherwise I'd say doom hunter has perhaps the least difference to regular variant while possessed

It just moves a lil faster and soaks up more damage.
Ok same can be said for any enemy really but a possessed dread knight for example, ugh...

• immediately after a rocket is fired, let go of fire and hold alt fire (lock on)
• once locked on, tap fire and let go of alt fire and fire
• second burst will fire automatically

It would be better to learn this initially using a Heavy Cannon basefire, as iirc it is faster/easier to do
