If you're struggling on Icon on UN, I'd recommend watching pretty much any Speedrun from the past year or two and what they do against icon. Icon is basically an auto scroller nowadays, and the only thing is that for phase 1 he no longer gets stun locked, so while you can break all his pieces fast you need to "survive longer", which of you camp crucible chargers in a corner with a boost pad, is relatively easy

Well while that helps, there's only 2 consistent "safe" crucible setups. The rest is just BFG lineups at certain points, etc.

You should be going into phase 2 with full BFG, and then learn when/where to BFG. That will knock out 5 body parts for you, 6 or 7 if you also use 1/2 crucible shots

If you're bad at quick swaps, yes. Micro Missile are decent against icon when you use primary charger. But that said, it's kinda superfluous since quick swaps also get the job done.

When he does fist slams or punches, you can hit him. Or you can double dash into his head while swinging, though the timing is weird.

There's 2 consistent spots to crucible in phase 2 though. Immediately hell slam where you spawn for phase 2 if you DONT reload checkpoints, and his second attack will slam near a big armor piece which is a good indication of where to stand to crucible his arm.

The neat thing is if you stand just right, the arm doesn't hurt you because the windbox that normally pushes you away actually pushes you away from the actual damaging part of the arm. Which is neat

Usual order I go is Tyrant spawn from entrance, DH then just kill the other Tyrant in the back last. Carcasses should be targeted only if you need resources or they're just in a very bad spot you yourself want to be at instead. Just throw in CGS when you know you're going to take damage

Hey what’s a good strategy for double marauders + respawning barons, cyber mancs, and whiplashes. Already beat it but it was just luck.

Kill the marauders asap, that will also end the spawns.
They don't spawn in at once so you can kill them one at a time if you're quick enough.
Stun+ bfg is a solid option if you are not proficient with fast 1 cycles

Also if you fire a bfg shot with your back turned to marauder(s) the tendrils will damage and eventually kill it / them

Typically if you’re near him when he spawns, he’ll more than likely eye flash immediately

I replayed the fight like 5 times and never saw him spawn. I think he spawns on the ground and I was staying on the upper level mostly.

Positioning.
The first marauder spawns in at the landing before the stairs on the left.

Go to the stairs leading up and stay at mid range and he'll prolly rush you immediately.

Failing that meathook around + kill fodder until you see a relatively empty spot.
Then get to that spot and the mara will follow.

Again if it fails, the mara does not flash or you get rushed, reposition.

You only have time for 1 or 2 attempts tho before the second mara spawns in

So just repeatedly bait him and hope for the eye flash.

There are ways to get past that but they are lil tricky.
Like fire a lock on burst from above and to the side, then dash to other side while he's blocking the lob and hit him with ballista or pb and combo from there

Yeah you need a 1 cycle practically.
So ssg + bfg then

I mean technically you have time for a 2 cycle but given the rng and the mob chasing you, you have to kill the first marauder with one go

Mind you the rest of the fight is a lot easier with just 1 marauder

So you can kill the other normally, just move around and take your time

Alternatively wait for both maras to spawn in and do the bfg tendril trick. You may need 2 shots though

Man the world spear master level is brilliantly done

Insane as hell and especially the final fight

The worst and best part is the final 5-arena battle

Easily the best one so far, with a close second being the mars core one.

Yea, it's 5 different battles:
Battle 1: whiplash spectres, riot soldiers
Battle 2: possessed baron & armored baron
Battle 3: cacaodemon & mancubus in a narrow path near the beginning of the map.
Battle 4: 2 tyrants (1 possessed), and some whiplashes and dread knights
Battle 5: 2 doom hunters, a marauder, and empowered hell knight.

If you die at any point, you go back to the start of battle 1

I got to battle 4 on Sunday, and had a bug where because I skipped two battles earlier in the level (unintentionally), I got a weird checkpoint mid-battle where after I died, I was stuck and couldn't proceed. I was very upset lol

Yup, and I only had one BFG for the final battle and basically had to save it for the doom hunters and marauder. The fact that there's not a single BFG after the halfway point in the level is wild as fuck. If I didn't save the one I had idk how I would have finished the last room 😭

Yeh I bfg'd there too eventually, it's easy to die there.
Had already de-sledded one doom hunter so the bfg shot killed one dh and de-sledded the other, nicely

She is wearing armor. When we finally rofl-stomp her into the floor her mask is broken off and you get to see her nasty face.

Side note: the one in the dirty pool water was supposed to be her replacement but she pulled the plug and they never woke up. Part of the reason everything is screwed up is because she refused to lay down and die when she was supposed to.

It's as hardcore as it gets.
Completing 2016 on Ultra-Nightmare took me months worth of attempts.
The hardest parts are navigating early combat before you unlock the powerful upgrades, and the nerves and panic when you hit low health.
