The soul extraction room was a very cool place because of the moving objects and eyes to fight that were pretty easy and kind of gives you a break after taking 10 minutes to figure out shooting the target in the other room opens the gate then you time it perfectly to get up

The difficulty is quite balanced in certain ways

The music is also something of note, it does the thing of playing a different track after each encounter (which is awesome)

There are like 4 seperate riffs, kinda similar in tone to the one from Hell on Earth

basically, all fodder and ambient is for 6 seconds, all heavies except mancs, pain elementals, and cyber mancs are for 4 seconds, all superheavies except tyrants and doom hunters for 3 seconds, and tyrants and doom hunters for 2 seconds

if your ice bomb isn't upgraded though those times are cut in half, except for against fodder and ambients where it goes down to 4 seconds

Recharge and utilize your equipment. Make sure you burn or freeze the enemy if your low on health. This is also necessary for health in general. Using it on a single stone imp doesn't work right, so make sure to kill a group of them instead.

rocket+ballista bats is very solid dps, though mostly only good if there are maykr drones

but bats can also speed up pb+ballista and ballista punch swaps

I did the original campaign on normal difficulty to get warmed up and im playing the DLC on hard but the doom hunters are a bit strong

Update: Got past the first room with the Mancubi., Was not at all using the room to my advantage. Ended up Ice Bomb + Blood Punching one of the two Mancubus' arm canons away then hiding behind a crate rq which allowed me to pick off weaker enemies for reaources while I waited for both to position themselves under the axe things so they'd instantly die.

Rest of the room was easy balls after that

Then I got that secret extra life and did that other fight in the same room before moving forward and finally getting my hands on the rocket launcher

My criteria for the best OST of any level is if the ambient music has me just as hooked as the combat music, which Exultia/Taras Nabad does

the strat that i use in nightmare difficulty is:
chainsaw an enemy (fodder) while ignoring the doom hunter. (i also use the meathook mastery to get more armor)
then deal with other heavies in the arena until the freeze bomb recharges. (if there is no enemies to deal with i just farm fodder)
once the freeze bomb is ready i freeze the doom hunter, then double bloodpunch him (if i hopefully have the bloodpunches)
it instantly destroys the sled.
then i just lock on burst him to death (2 lock-on bursts is enough).

this is the only strat that kinda works for me
