Are enemy behavior, combat or other game mechanics tied to framerate?
I was playing around on nightmare difficulty switching between graphic presets and noticed enemies seems to be more aggressive the higher the framerate, like dying 0.5s after executing a glory kill full health and shield happens a lot more often. The doom hunter seemed to be faster at close range compared to my first ultraviolence run i did some years ago, but maybe that's just the difficulty

apart from the meat hook speed ofc which is well known

a lot of projectiles become faster at high framerates and track more aggressively
manc fireballs, whiplash/carcass wave attacks, and arachnotron turret fire are some noticeable examples
and certain melee units (hell knights, dread knights, doom hunters, etc) seem to sometimes just teleport to the player's position

I’ve noticed through replying earlier levels just how many random themes are reused during cutscenes. King Novik plays when you first meet the other Hell Priests in the citadel, the Mars theme from DOOM 3 plays for a couple seconds right before you fight the Doom Hunter, and I think it was Asteroids and Rockets plays when you kill Deag Ranak

Mars Core is so funny because they clearly wanted to hype up both early and late game features. They kept the Plasma Rifle cutscene even if players likely had it by Exultia, and the teaser trailers had a damn Archvile and a Tyrant (not to mention the Slayer already having the Crucible?)

it only gets problematic in smaller more claustrophobic areas due to slamming heavy-super heavies not built for that type of area and it becomes unbalanced

i should start using the bfg again though lowk, I swore against it but some of these combinations are ludicrous

I'll make a rule to only use it when there's bfg ammo in the arena ig

Taras Nabad worked like a charm due to how open it is in most arenas, and in those smaller arenas (literally only 2 or 3) they were mostly generous with the randomizer

and once you get the gauss cannon in argent energy tower the game just starts flowing

Go to blutooth settings, click "view more devices" scroll all the way down to to "more devices and printer settings" (this opens control panel), go to your headset, go to services, then turn off the "hands free" tic

I did a new apporach to the possesed tyrant arena which is to go for everything else first and then the possesed prick, the ''go for him first'' strat works too but its more comfortable to evade him while dealing with the supporting super heavies

I get around 120 FPS with DLSS 4 Quality and max settings (besides Texture Pool Size, which is on Ultra) and RT on now. And turning off hands free telephony made the audio actually work. 🙏

Changing that one setting is so important for 8 GB GPUs

I also had an issue where using my external monitor instead of my laptop’s native monitor made my FPS drop by around the same amount

That’s fixed now tho so it might also be VRAM related

if you have 2 BFG rounds when you go into the double archvile arena, stand towards one of the walls adjacent to the archviles, then fire both of them straight, the tantacles will kill the archviles

that's kinda cheesing it though

killing the 2 dread knights and tyrants will open up the barrier, so your goal should just be to do that as fast as possible
