on the absolute HIGHEST difficulty, which is UN/Nightmare on Eternal and i THINK UN/Nightmare/Pandemonium, I'd say TDA is harder purely based on watching Raitro runs of max slider tda lol

I downloaded doom eternal again to replay it and my god is the game slower than what I remember. I feel like after ultrakill's brutal encores there is no harder fps experience. I went on to master levels and dlc asap because base game was beyond boring; for some reason they are too easy as well. I can clearly feel that I am much, much choppier after 1 year pause, but even considering that the game became too easy. Did anyone else experience this ?

and the chainsaw regens every 18 seconds lmao, and it gives 15 shells (7,5 ssg shots) per usage, and you can further increase the amount of shells you have ny killing demons with the full auto

killing a single superheavy with it yields 9 shells, if you have the mastery

you can almost only use the ssg without running out of ammo, so idk where you got the idea that it's a last option

but obviously using more guns is better, albeit you'll still pull out the ssg very often due to the meathook

do sticky->ssg->full auto

bonus points if you use something like silent mod swapping to swap to the full auto without the animation

silent mod swapping (SMS) has pretty rudimentary inputs, but the timing can be a bit hard
shoot whatever weapon you want to change mod on->press the bind of another weapon->immediately press the bind of the first weapon

then the mod in the first weapon should've switched, and no manual mod swap animation should come up

which is another reason this combo is so great, on top of you only using 3 shells to stagger the caco, you get armor, you gain 6 shells from the full auto kill (so most likely +1 shell or +0 shells in total)
but you also just switch from sticky bombs to full auto while switching to the ssg, and it's extra easy with it because there's no mods to switch on the ssg

SMS does have the caveat of you needing to shoot before you can do it, but it's not super important and there's another more advanved tech that cirvumvent this

the ballista has very high hitscan damage, making it viable in long range, albeit you can't (you can technically) apply FSE (fast swap effect) to it, so you can't swap it as fast as pb+rocket or pb+sticky bomb
base fire also deals increased damage against cacos and pain elementals, and the arbalest does too
you can ballista boost with the base fire, and bhop to increase momentum even further when you land
and the destroyer blade is the highest possible source of DPS in the game, and there's cool tech for it

there is no best weapon against them, but i can give a quick rundown of some key things
ssg and ballista both have their damag capped against marauders at 750, the ssg has a fast bring-up unlike the ballista making it easier to quick swap with, but the ballista does more damage unless you're pretty close to him
pb does normal 400 and is good for combos
rocket does 600 instead of 900 and can be awkward to integrate into combos due to its splash, and shouldn't be done, unless you activate FSE in it via for example the pb, then it's great if you're not too close
heat blast can extend his falter, if you use it right at the end, it'll deal damage to him and you can get i.e. another ssg shot (blood punch and frags also do this)

Generally i way prefer KnM over most controllers, purely because it feels so much less restricted with camera movement.

The new Doom Eternal Mod Launcher has issues and no one is listening. I've contacted Bethesda support twice only to be given auto responses telling me to check my video card. The launcher does not fit the 1080 or 4K screen and cannot be manipulated enought to fit in any other way. You can't even scroll down on it. Just sucks balls.

takes 20 seconds, but it starts to regen as soon as you start the chainsaw animation, which is like 2 seconds, so it's in practice 18s long

and overall it regens more than half your ammo
