oh yeah @astral hamlet we were talking about if punch swapping stickies really is worth it yesterday, but another bonus on top of the 20% speed increase is that punching maintains fast state, so you'll be able to swap out of them much faster, and even transfer fast state into the rocket launcher

and both of them combined makes it pretty beneficial

keep in mind that for rocket and sticky punch swaps, you have to activate FSE (fast swap effect) in them beforehand, which makes the swap significantly faster
it's most commonly done with a pb shot so you go pb->sticky->punch, in the video however you may have noticed that i didn't use a pb to initiate it, that's because you can activate FSE in tons of ways and i was too lazy to swap away so i just used a method that only requires the combat shotgun but has a somewhat difficult timing

and for stickies in particular, you don't need to press your weapon bind after each punch like you normally do with punch swaps

How much bfg and crucible shots do you still have when you get to that part?

If you have full ammo, you can waste 1 on the marauder. You'll still have like 3 bfg ammo (you can pick 2 from the arena + with the spare you still have)

Throw a bfg shot when the tyrants spawned in. That should clear most of the arena except for the tyrants. Take em out one by one, then you can use the remaining 2 for the archville spawns

funnily enough the main projectile's direct hit deals more than usual against all samur spirit buffed enemies except rhe dread knight, but rhe splash which is most of the damage from the bfg is reduced, so they take about 50% of the normal damage from a direct hit

biggest thing you can do if you wanna optimize your ballista boosts is to practice hitting a perfect 180 degree turn, because the closer you are to it, the more speed

but even that is very negligible if your ballista boosts already are decent

essentially, all that i'm doing here is immediately upon firing the weapon i press the heavy cannon bind, then immediately the rocket launcher/sticky bind

this will create first a buffer animation (the ballista being brought down then up, or the heavy cannon apperaring quickly), then when you get into your second weapon you have FSE

i'd say wack swaps are mostly useful if you're doing really advanced stuff, but you can do them after firing a dblade and arba (i believe slightlyy more DPS that way than going into pb normally), after meathooking and you fired the ssg afterwards (same thing again, but i'm less sure), after ballista boosts kinda, after lock-ons kinda

oh yeah, you can do a wack swap by mod swap cancelling into the heavy cannon too, which is required for the dblade and lock-on

essentially, wack swaps are a mostly irrelevant nerd thing!

unironically what happened to me for a minute
finished the campaign on nightmare, then played tag 1 on UV because I was scared of the difficulty spike
then played urdak on nightmare and got my ass kicked because I wasn't used to aggressive demons anymore
