this game's balancing is so funny

weakpoints are only a concern in the first 2ish levels if you run the randomizer

in vanilla they barely even exist at that point in the game

and as soon as they start showing up more, you already deal so much damage that things die before they get to use their cannons or rocket launchers or whatever

Doom hunter being given a shield that needs to be whittled down via the plasma rifle when you can just aim for the sled which has a much larger hitbox anyways never made sense to me

Especially when said sled is weak to something that depletes 4/5ths of its hp in a single hit

It’s a mechanic that solely exists to be obsolete, I think I’ve really only seen it be used by first time players who dont understand why it’s a silly mechanic

The only reason I could see it being viable is maybe to LOB the doom hunter but by the time you’ve expended enough plasma to bring down his shield you’ve probably thrown away a LOBs worth of damage anyways

It also just doesn't hit the sweet spot for me.

A fight that is too chaotic will not be so fun for me anymore, but a fight that is methodical will feel out of place in DOOM, and Davoth... yeah it doesn't hit that sweet spot
