Flaming Hook (Meathook mastery) is the best mastery in the game, and will save your life. I recommend buying both SSG upgrades immediately so you can start the Mastery challenge early on.

Play a nightmare save alongside your ultra nightmare save and replay the nightmare one a bunch until you think you have the level down.

Don’t get discouraged from dying, especially early on. The first 4 levels are the hardest part of any UN run. And if you make it past these 4 levels, then you’re capable of beating UN.

do you guys ever have issues with Eternal stuttering when launching it and starting a level for the first time?

it always happens to me, though when I reload a checkpoint the stuttering is gone and I can play the game on ultra-nightmare settings at a smooth 60 fps

But that issue is the same for me in a different game and it has to do with your pc not prioritizing it high enough you can change it by changing its priority in task manager

And of course a restart will always remind your pc it needs high priority lol

Hello! I'm new here. but i was wondering, I recently bought Doom Eternal Ancient Gods 1 and 2, Yesterday I was stuck on Samur for a while and after an hour or so of fighting them, realized the only way to kill spirits is the Microwave beam, does anyone have any tips for me for part 2?

( after having applied fast state to sticky bombs ) right click ( will be held for duration of process ) -> left click-> punch -> left click -> punch ( just repeat )

when having applied fast state from something like precision bolt, which is most likely what you’ll be using, you can enter sticky bombs having held down right click

repressing the weapon bind for sticky bombs is not necessary unlike other weapons because the other ones reset the weapons cooldown, but in its case it’s just cancelling an animation ( i guess )

a lot of stuff, I’ll list all I’ve got off memory,
Heavy cannon base fire, precision bolt, micro missiles, plasma rifle base fire ( must be held for at least 8 shots ), heat blast, microwave beam ( must be held for an amount I don’t have on hand ), chaingun base fire ( includes with energy shield im pretty sure, needs to be held down for at least 8 shots as well ), unmaykr ( at least 5 shots required ).

and for more zany ones if you’re interested.
sticky bomb when it buffers in certain ways can apply fast state to other weapons, but stand-alone it can maintain what it’s given from another weapon, there’s “wackswapping” which can be done either by mod swap cancelling into heavy cannon and then normal swapping to your desired applicant afterwards, or just firing a weapon with a slower bring up speed, pressing the heavy cannon, then your desired receiving weapon, also the very end of the super shotguns reload animation can activate fast state, as well as punching enemies for some reason

Whenever I’m playing Eternal I just feel like the Pain Elemental does absolutely nothing sometimes, he’s a really effective monster but idk if it’s bugs but sometimes he just doesn’t attack you

The pain isn’t him being super difficult since he mostly doesn’t move however he requires your full attention like the buff totem which means you have to focus him down

it does take some timing though

except the ballista, but that's frame perfect

you didn't ask me, but the most important thing for beginners are the fundamentals: use your equipment often, move around the arena fluidly with dashes, double jumps and meathook and switch weapons a bit
