Technically there is no confirmation in the classic games that Doom II's final boss was called the "Icon of Sin." This was merely the level name, so many didn't really assume this to be the entity's name; after all, Doom 1's Spiderdemon isn't named "Dis."

Yes and no. The Argent doesn't let them die naturally and be reborn; this process is forever destroyed because the Father was taken from Urdak; the Maykr Singularity doesn't function properly without him, so they can't be uploaded back into it and reborn. That's why the Transfiguration is corrupted; their bodies are living well past their expiration date, but they're forced to stay alive.

if i could be fully honest about this game, there’s only one real problem i have with it,
the ammo
now, 2016 is far from a hard game, i’ll definitely be playing it on ultra violence at some point because it never really felt challenging, but one thing that was consistent was it felt like ammo was valuable, and preserving it was important. However, it was easy to get more, one ammo upgrade takes the shotgun from 20 ammo to 30.
Now, in Eternal on the other hand… after two ammo upgrades, you finally reach 20 ammo… which ultimately leads to (at least early game) a feeling of desperation, where ammo is more valuable than anything, and you can’t miss a single shot or you’re pretty much locked out of a specific weapon for the rest of the encounter.
It takes a lot more skill to preserve ammo and time ammo pickups to make it last as long as possible, but i just wish ammo was more like in 2016, where running out of ammo is a concern, but not to the point where after one enemy encounter your ammo is already empty.
Still a phenomenal game, that’s just a minor nitpick i have with it

I’m not saying the game had more of a DUTY to teach, so much as it had an OPPORTUNITY to teach the player in a more integrated manner than only providing written detail. I’m picturing a challenge that requires you to chainsaw a lot. Maybe you start the game with minimal ammo and you don’t get ammo upgrades until after you’ve proven you can use chainsaw effectively. Same with each weapon mod.

you gotta practice, you’re not going to grasp it the instant you try it, try dipping your toes in an easier level, or hell if you have a completed savefile you could turn on the infinite ammo cheat code and just practice the inputs in a section without enemies altogether
