They also both have great levels, music, and other cool enemy additions. Blood Maykrs, Armored Barons, and Riot Soldiers are cool.
I like them. Both DLCs meet the standards the base campaign set, IMO.

The gameplay for the Davoth boss is not perfect but I think the presentation, music, and general atmosphere is the best of any Doom boss. That aspect of him is incredible.
The gameplay issues are apparent but I still prefer Davoth over the Seraphim boss which I really dislike. I like to use an aggressive AI mod for the boss that fixes most of my issues with him.
I'd vouch for this if the 2016 Revenant was a skin

I don't like the Samur boss because you barely even fight him. The meat of the boss is spent fighting Possessed demons and Cacodemons. It's fucking stupid. Why would Samur be summoning demons??
We're fighting the motherfucking right hand of the creator of reality as we know it. The fact that most of the boss is just dealing with bullet sponge normal demons is just disappointing.

It's good. I like it. Not perfect. I prefer 2016's final boss, but it's still a good one.

I always saw the Icon as a cool boss back then but honestly I think it's held back by being such a rigorous arena with this giant titan you have to constantly hit with your guns in between
I honestly expected the davoth boss something to be more to the gladiator boss, but you have to dodge an onslaught of projectiles while dealing damage in return, making it a constant dance of damaging and dodging

Help people, it won't let me read the mods in the installed folder, when I change tabs and come back, they are put back in the non-installed folder, even if I start the game with the option to play with mods, they are not saved
Yes, I have several mods that I put on the first day of release of the mod system that I can use, but it won't let me put them in the uninstalled folder, the same thing happens that when changing tabs or entering the game, they they put the installed
The lack of checkpoints on master levels is a crime
the actual crime is that you can't continue the master level after the game has been closed down for one reason or another
SGN ML kept crashing my Nintendo switch on NM so I got an Xbox lol
checkpoints in UN master levels quite literally do nothing, because if you die you have to restart, and if your game crashes, that checkpoint doesn’t retain your progress like a campaign would

It was at that moment where a lot of enemies were about to spawn in. I shot a BFG so that it would do damage over time (It was my first time playing SGN NM) and that's where it struggled. Not on any other point where a lot was going on but in my opinion one of the more calmer moments...

BFG crashing was definitely a huge issue up until 6.2, but current patch it shouldn’t be a problem. although they got rid of the root causes I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more obscure and less reproducible criteria that can be met to still achieve that

We are lucky the game even happened, especially the extra content
cpu dependent was poor wording but it heavily relies on it, I am probably good to assume the lag from that many enemies is just a high poly count or something, meaning it’s not straining more of the same thing, and the game crashing from sheer overload is highly unlikely anyways, although there are a lot of hard limits like unhandled exceptions
I meant way earlier when there were cases of BFG causing crashes... I would've definitely added a fail-safe of sorts so progress is not lost
I’m not saying that it’s a huge deal btw, if you managed to get a BFG crash current patch you either encountered some extremely obscure and not very reproducible version of it or something went wrong on your side

in Doom 2016, it felt like it was actually you who was doing this, while in Eternal, you feel way more floaty. I mean yeah it also has cinematic third person shots but even the first person ones don't feel like you're in first person

from what I could tell immediately, the modded and unmodded branch likely have a seperate save-files
I noticed two differently named folders, but the one that seems to hold the unmodded saves doesn't have any either
odd, reverting to the default change brings the save back
it does still not show in the saves folder, however
I figured out the folders but the non-beta save is encrypted and the beta one is unencrypted
trying to use either on the other marks the save as corrupted and the game removes it
will try a few more things but will likely revert to the default branch

I think it was pumped up after Destiny came out in 2019. Eternal came out the next year. Again it's not bad just too much. Spent too much time platforming over and over again. I'm not the greatest at these kind of games I def admit, but damn.

Not making a claim. Just my opinon. Destiny was released in September 9, 2014.....Destiny 2 was released in September 6, 2017...Eternal was released March 20, 2020. It is possable because of the popurlarity of both Destiny games that the idea of adding more platforming was the insperation.

Davoth was more frustrating to figure out though because I thought it'd be a "shoot at it until it dies" type of gameplay
What happens when a lot of people first fight Davoth is they don't really understand the best way to kill him, and they get hit by him or shoot him resulting in him regenerating health, and then they get stuck on the fight for a long time, making it the hardest boss in the game for them. As soon as you get good enough to actually understand tho, you realize that davoth is easy as shit and that samur is way harder

Also Classic DOOM had platforming lol. You just had to sprint across large and tight gaps with your momentum since there was no jumping

I think the other one in AGP1 might be Spirits, just slows you to a crawl a forces you to be a damage sponge for a bit
atm, I'm very frustrated with the dogs, mainly because, even if I don't shoot at their shields at all, a random zombie gonna hit the marauder and they summon a dog. And for some reason, I can't shoot them away fast enough (yet)

Also The Chasm which is an official level has a section during the second half where you can't get back up.

I think this is a problem with Vsync in the main menu I felt like there was drag in my mouse movement when I set vsync to on or adaptive but not the case when it was off

yeah the nerf to TAG1 was way overplayed and asides from slightly tweaking Ai in a negligible way, like 3 encounters tops were changed, and even then I think those all got reverted anyways except for like the spirit introduction in blood swamps
The biggest change to TAG1 was just the quality of life ability of turrets ( a literal ambient enemy ) having a longer window of exposure
people often tout these changes as if they are some total game changer that made the game one gorbillion times harder but that’s not the case

one that especially gets me is the complaint about how eternals melee is bad, like dude the ability to put fodder into stagger in what is a subjectively “easier” way is still an openly available option, with the dash basically filling the same role if you wanted it to, falters fodder and deals a teeny bit of damage, and if we’re talking pre dash then we’re complaining about the lack of a mechanic for like a level and a half, meanwhile double jump is unlocked like at least 1/3rd through the campaign on 2016
like it’s such a weird complaint that I do not think would exist had people not been predisposed to it in the previous game, like the bar for execution to fire 2 heavy cannon shots at a zombie cannot be difficult enough to warrant the thought process that somebody would want that mechanic back

Secret encounters for example, the unmaykr decimates them while the bfg can't even get all of the enemies in some cases, it's really dependent on where you are and what you're fighting
Yeah no problem is it is not on the same level, in single target damage it pulls ahead a bit, but you should never be struggling in a 1v1 scenario
Basic pb swaps also are stupidly close to the unmaykr's damage output whilst not wasting an arena stunner

Yes, I have several mods that I put on the first day of release of the mod system that I can use, but it won't let me put them in the uninstalled folder, the same thing happens that when changing tabs or entering the game, they they put the installed
Hard agree, i've tried fiddling around with the unmaykr since i was never using the BFG, and the problem is that there's just simply never a scenario in which you need to use the unmaykr.
any other combo will do you just fine, you could argue "Oh but it uses BFG ammo! so incase you run out you can just use the unmaykr right?"
except if you're even semi-decent at ammo managment, that will NEVER be a problem
Plus one problem i had with it, is that the BFG and Unmaykr are bound to the same key and each time i'd press that key it'd pull out the BFG first. So you have to press it AGAIN to equip the unmaykr, that alone was so annoying that i gave up trying to use it

honestly I didn't need a lot to please me for horde mode: giant waves of enemies in the Battlemode arenas so those would be used for single player. Instead we got this weird slot machine weapon system and for some reason they chose some of the worst arenas from the campaign
I have a little issue, i'm trying ultranightmare mode, but the game is crashing while loading before the hunter base after cultist zone, stays on 92% for a moment and just crash, i tryed to reboot the pc but is not working, any solution for that?
you could try verifying the files through Steam
if it crashes on load then you might have some corrupted data somewhere

Mobile turret shoots fast, shield gives you godmode on demand and actually does more damage then Mobile Turret despite that being the "DPS increasing" mod
you're telling me mobile turret doesn't do 4x the damage as it suggests

64 ms firing interval on paper (actually 50 ms in game, don't ask me why), 96 damage per shot (4 barrels that deal 24 damage each but they fire at the same time)
1000 ms/50 ms = 20 shots per second
20 sps * 96 damage = 1920 dps
you get optimal shield bash damage by dashing every half a second (upgraded dash cooldown is 500 ms), and with the 200 damage that a single bash deals, that results in 400 dps

guys, i did some achivements but they wont show up on steam, there are a lot of them, any ideas what is going on?
i used to have the game on bethesda launcher but then it was moved to steam

also off topic but do you guys know how to change your keybinds in the command prompt menu? i cant do it through the ingame menu for some reason

disable cloud saves and renamed my saved data from steam

I finally bought the DLCs and played the first level on Nightmare. Damn, this game can cure depression!

Sorry to dig up an old conversation, but I do feel like the environment puts you into freefall a lot more in DLC than base game did. I try climbing a ledge and the wall eats me for a couple seconds, that’s plenty of time for a possessed demon or two to come over and speedbag me. At no fault of my own because I can’t jump or dash until the game sets me down.
again, that is still the players fault, this game is about managing resources, and in a comparative way, your dashes and jumps are the same way, with the refill for that being touching the ground, if you go airborne and then just use all of what you have up that’s not the games fault
also to add onto this, a ledge grab animation takes like, half a second tops, if your entire stack is depleted by half a second of inactivity that is also the players fault
like yeah doom eternal has ways it can screw you over but this isn’t one of them
Someone give me the exact definition of "buffstacked?" Is it a combination of screecher, buff totem, and possessed?
